Translation to Native Software

On September 22, 2022, Sberbank introduced the updated SberShuttle robotic warehouse logistics automation system, which is now controlled by RMS (Robotics Management System) software, created by the Sberbank Robotics Laboratory.

The updated software allows you to consistently manage the entire fleet of robots. Thanks to the transition to its own SberShuttle management software, system reliability increased by 30%, the time to move goods to the order assembly station was reduced, as well as optimized product flows and task allocation in terms of prioritization, which reduced the average time to assemble one order by 10 − 15%.

Demonstration of SberShuttle

Sber demonstrated his development to automate warehouse logistics in the e-commerce industry - the SberShuttle robotic system. The bank announced this on July 5, 2022.

The system is a rack storage. Between the racks, shuttle robots move along the rails, transporting containers with goods from storage places to a pickup station. At the pickup station there is a robot-manipulator SberPicker, equipped with a system for automatic capture of goods based on computer vision, which selects and transfers goods for their packaging. The whole process is controlled by the operator based on the Robotic Management System.

SberShuttle fully automates warehouse operations, eliminating human error and reducing operating costs. Compared to manual selection, it provides a fivefold increase in efficiency, calculated in Sberbank.

Among the features of the shuttle system of Sberbank:

  • a minimum of expensive components in the shuttle design;
  • high storage density - the entire volume of the room is used from floor to ceiling, the distance between racks and containers is minimized;
  • Scalability-Increases system performance by adding components without changing configuration
  • fault tolerance - failure of one shuttle does not paralyze the operation of the warehouse, but only slightly reduces its performance during the replacement of the robot.

The SberShuttle system is suitable for both large fulfillment centers and small urban darkstores and specialized warehouses. In addition to e-com, it can be used in any areas where piece selection is required (assembly and repair operations, operational warehouses, and so on).
