2022: EcoFlow Power Kits Announcement
On July 5, 2022, EcoFlow, a company specializing in portable power and renewable energy solutions, introduced EcoFlow Power Kits for motorhomes and autonomous housing. Easy-to-install, EcoFlow Power Kits streamline the complex assembly process of existing customized power systems, allowing users to set their own settings to meet their power needs with smart modules.
According to the company, EcoFlow Power Kits are equipped with two basic modules: EcoFlow Power Hub, which acts as a central link for all inputs and outputs, and EcoFlow LFP batteries with a capacity of 2k/5 kVt·ch. Depending on actual power requirements, the EcoFlow Power Hub can connect to three LFPs that collectively provide basic power to the 2 kVt·ch and can be expanded to 15 kVt·ch, providing power to the motorhome for 18 hours and a self-contained home for 11-14 hours without the use of an input power source.
In addition, EcoFlow Power Kits can come bundled with three types of solar panels, namely 100 watt rigid/flexible solar panels and 400 watt rigid solar panel. By connecting EcoFlow Power Kits to solar panels, users can achieve a maximum power of 4,800W, where they can fully charge 15 kVt·ch batteries in about three hours.
For more efficient management, the EcoFlow Power Kits can be complemented by an AC/DC Smart Distribution Panel that can connect to six AC home/motorhome circuits and 12 DC circuits, 6 of which are controlled by an EcoFlow Power Kits console or application.
Most modular power supply systems, consisting of dozens of modules, take an experienced user from 10 to 15 hours to install. By comparison, EcoFlow Power Kits contain up to 4 modules (not including solar panels) and wires, which optimizes the installation process by three times compared to the industry average , while reducing the risk of incorrect wiring.
EcoFlow Power Kits can be charged with six different power supplies including solar panels, EcoFlow Smart Generator, AC generators, onshore power supplies, power grid and traditional generators. With various charging methods and the ability to fully recharge 15 kVt·ch batteries at a peak power of 6,000W in two and a half hours, EcoFlow Power Kits will relieve users of anxiety due to low battery charge levels when traveling in a motorhome or when living offline. The EcoFlow Power Kits use a 48-volt system instead of the traditional 12-volt system, which optimizes the quality of the user experience for various parameters, including safety, energy efficiency, versatility and ease of use.
With the same output power in a 48-volt system, only a quarter of the electric current passes through the cables compared to traditional 12-volt systems (at the loss of one sixteenth power), allowing thinner and more convenient cables.
The 48-volt system allows the EcoFlow Power Hub station to provide a maximum output of 3,600 watts to power powerful appliances including air conditioners, water heaters and hairdryers. The EcoFlow Power Hub station can replace 12-volt systems as it comes with a step-down DC-DC module for those who have already installed a power system in their motorhome.
