2022: Launch "Test drive of IT professions based on the VK Mini Apps platform

VK announced on July 19, 2022 the launch of Test Drive IT Professions, a career guidance application based on the VK Mini Apps platform. The project is aimed at schoolchildren aged 12 to 18 years. The guys will be able to get acquainted with the IT specialties they are interested in, get basic knowledge and training recommendations.

The widget works in a simulator format. Having chosen the IT profession, the user gets directly "to the workplace" - in the messenger, a bot colleague will contact him. It will help you learn more about the chosen direction, immerse yourself in its specifics, and also give basic ideas about the profession, offering to complete thematic tasks, and recommendations on how to get it.

Six professions are already available in the mini-application, including interface designer, content moderator, project manager, cybersecurity specialist, IT recruiter and data analyst. In September 2022, 10 professions will become available to users in the application.

Users who successfully pass the test drive of IT professions will receive points. On them, inside the mini-application, you can purchase prizes from VK, the "Other Matter" platform and project partners.

We consider it important to develop awareness and responsibility for our professional future in schoolchildren. Therefore, we decided to make career guidance in a digital and interactive format close to schoolchildren using the VKontakte mini-application. In it, the guys will be able to feel at the workplaces of different specialists and thus get acquainted with the most famous and demanded IT professions in order to understand what is closer to them and choose their career trajectory,
commented Sergey Mardanov, director of relations with VK universities.
