Yandex Market has implemented its own conveyor management systems in a new warehouse

2023: Launch of conveyor belt at Sofino-2 warehouse

At the Yandex Market warehouse Sofyino-2 in the Moscow region, a conveyor belt with a total length of almost 10 km was launched. This was announced on December 5, 2023 by representatives of Yandex Market.

The pipeline is a key element of automation of most operational processes in the warehouse, three systems are involved in its work: warehouse management systems, routes and controllers. In the new warehouse, software for these three systems was created by the marketplace development team. For this, Market employees call Sofyino-2 a Super Warehouse.

Each of the three conveyor systems is responsible for its own part of the movement of goods at the site. So, with the help of the warehouse management system, operators on the site accept goods and collect orders. It has long been used in all logistics centers of Market. The route management system on the conveyor monitors the movement of the TOT (plastic box with goods) and transmits commands about turns or stops of the conveyor to the third system. It controls the controllers, moves the TOT along the conveyor and guides it in the desired direction.

The Super Warehouse provides a separate zone for new robotic solutions "Market" in the concept of goods to person. Swarm technologies will be practiced there, when several robots based on the Dilectus model presented earlier operate simultaneously. Dilectus with a capture mechanism has already shown good results in the Market darkstore and has learned how to move, collect orders and transfer them to the final stage of human packaging.

2022: Development of warehouse robots for Yandex.Market and Yandex.Lavki

Yandex announced on August 5, 2022, the development of two prototypes of warehouse robots. The task of one of them is to inventory the goods that are stored in the logistics complex of the Market, and the other is to move the goods in the darkstore of the Shop, lay them out on the shelves and bring them to order collectors.
