2022: Creating a Solution

Electric equipment maker EKF and smart building platform developer and smart home device maker Ujin announced a joint line of smart devices on August 8, 2022.

The collaboration of brands means that EKF will produce the cases of Ujin IoT devices in the design of electrical installation products of the Stockholm series, and Ujin will fill them with smart "stuffing." The created device design is not just a style solution, thanks to it, Ujin devices can now be installed in multi-platform frames. Users will be able to mount smart home devices by combining them with switches, sockets and other EKF products.

Some devices, in addition to the redesign, will acquire additional functionality. For example, the UJIN Heat thermostat will now be equipped with a display that displays the target and current temperature, humidity and SO2 level.

From August 2022, the cases of Ujin devices will be manufactured in EKF made of plastic, which is more resistant to direct sunlight and temperature changes, and the stylish design and pleasant feel of the material will delight aesthetes. Especially those who choose dark interior details - Ujin smart devices will appear in black.

In addition to the redesign, Ujin has redesigned IoT device boards. Changes invisible to the user have significantly improved the "filling," making it even more technological. In addition to support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, support for the Zigbee protocol will appear, which will make it possible to use Ujin as a gate to control Zigbee devices from other manufacturers: motion sensors, opening, leaks, vibration, temperature, humidity; smart bulbs, sockets, radiator valves; various buttons, switches, relays.

For example, smart home owners from Tuya and Xiaomi affected by the sanctions will be able to switch their devices to the Ujin platform and use the fully Russian solution. In the future, it is also planned to integrate Zigbee smart devices from EKF.

The partners plan to receive the first industrial batch of updated Ujin devices in the fall, and from 2023 production will completely switch to the new version.
