On August 19, 2022, the company Eltex announced the launch of mass production of Wi-Fi router RG-5440G-Wac.

According to the company, this model provides high wireless bandwidth, proper spectral efficiency and performance when playing video streaming, as well as low latencies for online games.

RG-5440G-Wac supports Wi-Fi 5 (IEEE 802.11ac) and simultaneous operation in two bands - 2.4 and 5 GHz. The router is based on a dual-core RTL8198D processor clocked at 900 MHz. For packet processing in the 2.4 GHz band is answered by the RTL8192FR chip, 5 GHz - RTL8814BR. The amount of RAM is 256 MB.

Thanks to the support of traffic prioritization mechanisms (QoS) and MU-MIMO 4x4 technology, you can connect more devices to the router and use services that were previously available only with a wired connection. Several users within the same wireless network can simultaneously play with minimal delays in online games, watch IPTV, 4K video definition and download large files at the right speed.

MU-MIMO 4×4 technology is complemented by TX Beamforming technology. It optimizes connection speed and stability by concentrating the signal to user wireless devices.

Due to productive components and effective technologies, the router has a total throughput of 2033 Mbps: up to 300 Mbps for the 2.4 GHz band and 1733 Mbps for the 5 GHz band. If you need to create a high-speed wired network, the router has four gigabit LAN ports.

The RG-5440G-Wac uses WPA/WPA2 encryption protocols to protect data. If a higher level of security is needed, a WPA2Enterprise encryption protocol is provided. Thus, the router can also be used to organize corporate networks in small offices.

For an additional level of security, you can configure up to three guest networks (Multi-SSID). A specific set of usage rights can be applied to each of them.

Rarely does a single router have enough to cover an entire apartment or private house with a wireless network, especially if they have a large area or complex layout. There will definitely be "dead" zones in which the signal either very weak or absent altogether. RG-5440G-Wac supports EasyMesh (IEEE 802.11k/v). Based on the router and repeaters, a Mesh network is created that covers the entire room. In conjunction with RG-5440G-Wac, it is recommended to use the Eltex RR-10 and RR-11 repeaters.

Thanks to seamless roaming, when moving from one mesh network coverage area to another, you do not need to re-log in or stop consuming online content: the created network has one SSID and password, and the transition between Wi-Fi coverage areas will be invisible.
