2022: Communication Infrastructure Upgrade Project Launched

OBIT and SEZ St. Petersburg launched a large-scale project to modernize the communication infrastructure. OBIT announced this on October 10, 2022.

The goal of the project is a seamless transition to the updated network core, which allows to significantly expand the capabilities of the OBIT telecommunications system in the SEZ.

The communication infrastructure modernization project will take place in several stages. At the first stage, OBIT modernized the core of the communication network by installing switching equipment, which made it possible to increase the throughput of communication channels, increase the fault tolerance of the network and guarantee the continuity of basic services.

In addition to improved characteristics, the equipment has the current quality - this is a completely Russian product, accordingly, during its operation there will be no problems associated with restrictions on software or technical support.

The state of the network infrastructure is an important factor in the efficiency of the SEZ, on the territory of which innovative enterprises with high requirements for the quality of communication and efficiency of communication systems are located.

The second stage of JSC SEZ St. Petersburg increases the throughput of communication channels used for the needs of the management company on the basis of the modernized core of the OBIT network, as a result of which the data transfer rate of the management company's offices at both sites in St. Petersburg will increase several times.

At the next stages, which will also be implemented on the basis of domestic equipment, increased reliability of services will be ensured due to the redundancy of key elements of systems.
