For five years, the area of the special economic zone (SEZ) "St. Petersburg" has doubled, the total investments of its residents reached 105 billion rubles, and their total revenue - 404 billion rubles. Such data in May 2024 were cited by the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Kirill Polyakov.
According to him, these data indicate that investments in the creation of new enterprises in the SEZ pay off and demonstrate their economic feasibility. Doubling the area of the SEZ will increase the number of companies, strengthen the production and technological potential of the city's economy, Polyakov emphasized.
At the end of 2023, new land plots at sites in the Parnas and Shushary industrial zones became part of the St. Petersburg special economic zone, as a result of which the total area of the SEZ increased to 337 hectares. SEZ "St. Petersburg" is located in four sections - "Neudorf," "Novoorlovskaya," "Parnas" and "Shushary."
According to the press service of the administration, by St. Petersburg the beginning of 2024, the total number of jobs in companies that are residents of the SEZ "St. Petersburg" reached 7039.
Kirill Polyakov noted that St. Petersburg received federal compensation in the amount of more than 338 million rubles for the development of a special economic zone. In 2024, it is expected that the city will receive about 2.1 billion rubles from the federal budget as compensation for the costs of creating and developing the SEZ. It is noted that the amount of tax deductions paid by residents of the SEZ twice exceeds the amount of funds originally invested in the project.

Growth of investments of residents by 72% to 20 billion rubles

The total revenue of companies in the SEZ increased in 2023 by 11% and amounted to 86.5 billion rubles. The largest volume of investments among residents of the SEZ "St. Petersburg" in 2023 fell on the companies "Biocad," "Gazpromneft - Industrial Innovations" and "Rosseti Property Management." In particular, JSC Biocad in 2023 increased funding for research work by more than 30%. In addition, the company doubled the production of active pharmaceutical substances, which made it possible to increase the production of drugs for the therapy of cancer and autoimmune diseases.
In turn, LLC Gazpromneft - Industrial Innovations invested in equipping equipment and carrying out construction, installation and finishing work of the future laboratory and pilot complex. The company intends to open it in the second quarter of 2024 on leased areas in the SEZ.
The company "Rosseti Property Management" financing of construction made it possible to ensure access to the final stage of the implementation of its project - the intellectual laboratory of digital networks.

Approval of three new projects for 4 billion rubles
The Expert Council of the SEZ "St. Petersburg" approved for the implementation of three new investment projects in the amount of 4 billion rubles. The press service of the special economic zone announced this at the end of August 2023.
In particular, Pantes MT LLC plans to build a plant for the development and production of electronics (motherboards, drive control controllers, APCS controllers, Internet of Things system modules). The plant will produce ready-made electronic units and blocks for cooperation with other enterprises of the domestic industry. The volume of investments will amount to 1.5 billion rubles.
Semargl LLC plans to build a plant for the production of automated warehouse, lifting, transport and robotic systems designed to automate production processes in industry, warehouse logistics, retail pharmacological industries, food industry, etc. Automation of products is implemented on the basis software of own development of the DIACON™ WMS included in the "Unified for register of Russian programs Computers and Databases" and registered in. 2022: Investment of 11.5 billion rubles by residents for the year

The leaders in the number of employed specialists are Biocad Pharmasintez-Nord and PANTES, which opened a new electronics plant in the summer of 2022.
By February 2023, 69 companies were registered as residents in the territory of the special economic zone of the technical and innovative type in St. Petersburg. The volume of declared investments in projects is about 170 billion rubles.
The SEZ is located in two sections - "Neudorf" (18.99 hectares, the village of Strelna, Petrodvortsovy district) and "Novoorlovskaya" (163.33 hectares, Primorsky district). The regime of the special economic zone "St. Petersburg" is valid until 2054.
For the entire period of operation of the SEZ, its residents by the beginning of February 2023 invested 85.2 billion rubles in projects, while receiving a total revenue of 318 billion rubles.[4]
