2022: Introduction of Axelot WMS X5
AXELOT announced on October 21, 2022 that during the AXELOT WMS X5 implementation project at the SPAR distribution center in Georgia, AXELOT specialists translated the interface of data collection terminals into Georgian to make it easier for employees to work with the system.
Expanding its geography, SPAR strives to spread high standards of service and imposes increased requirements on the quality and freshness of goods. The distribution centers of the chain of stores bear a huge burden on providing many retail outlets with products, it is almost impossible to process such a volume of goods manually, therefore, a warehouse logistics management system was introduced at the distribution center of the SPAR chain of stores in Georgia.
The AXELOT WMS X5 system was chosen as a software solution, the implementation was carried out by AXELOT specialists. As a result of the implementation of AXELOT WMS X5 in the SPAR distribution center in Georgia, the following business processes were automated: acceptance of goods, placement of accepted pallets in storage areas, selection of goods with association on a flight, inventory, replenishment of the box and unit sampling area, as well as control, packaging and shipment of goods.
Depending on the receipt types, the system automatically plans further actions:
- For normal acceptance - immediately placement in the main part of the warehouse. Moreover, full pallets are planned to the storage zone, and incomplete pallets are planned to the sampling zone.
- Goods accepted for cross-docking are immediately transferred to a dedicated room located near the front of loading and unloading operations.
- When processing the return flow for entire cargo items, the confidence acceptance mode is used, and placement in a special room is part of the acceptance process without a dedicated stage.
During the receipt processing process, you can automatically print the pallet sheets and schedule the placement in part without being linked to the completion of the entire delivery. Selection is carried out by order - one employee is assigned to select goods in one order, but if the order quantity is large, WMS assigns several performers.
When selecting with whole pallets, the system automatically generates a task for control, and when selecting with pieces, a package is produced combined with the control, after which a seal is printed and applied. The possibility of "smart" group selection of several orders was implemented. If a specific nomenclature for two or more orders of one flight in total occupies more than a certain part of the whole pallet, the system plans to immediately select the total demand and it is on the pallet from the storage area. At the same time, sorting by specific recipients is carried out directly by the driver at the delivery site. The inventory is carried out by the responsible employee selectively at his discretion or according to a task planned by the system for the detected discrepancy, for example, if during the selection process there was a discrepancy between the accounting and actual quantities of the goods in the cell. All operations by the personnel of the distribution center are carried out using data collection terminals. In this way, the inventory status is available online to all automatic planning algorithms. During the project, AXELOT specialists, within the framework of the standard functionality of the system, translated the interface of the mobile client used to work in WMS on data collection terminals into Georgian. The system supports both language change at the configuration interface and shipping documentation level and at the data layer, and replacement of reference item names is also available. The translation of the interface language made it possible to simplify and speed up the process of training and adapting personnel to work in the system. In addition, during automation, AXELOT specialists integrated AXELOT WMS X5 with the enterprise information system. The integration was performed using the DATAREON ESB data service bus.
