2022: Launch of EvoCargo unmanned electric platform

On November 1, 2022, Marvel-Logistics announced the commissioning of an unmanned electric platform by the Russian manufacturer Evocargo. Transport delivers goods between remote storage terminals in Valishchevo near Moscow.

The unmanned platform EVO.1 is electric vehicle a carrying capacity of up to 2 tons and 6 Europallets with a total weight of up to 2 tons with the ability to increase it to 3 tons using a semi-trailer. The range on a single charge battery is up to 200 km, the speed is up to 25 km/h, the distance of the regular route is 2 km. The EVO.1 uses sensors, video cameras 3D stereo cameras, parking sensors, satellite navigation system and other equipment, as well as, software based on its own developments in the field of perception, visual localization, planning and control, satellite and inertial navigation. Charging takes 6 hours from a household outlet or 40 minutes in Fast Charge mode. To increase the power reserve, it is possible to fill with hydrogen. The platform corresponds to the level of automation SAE 4 (high level of automation, sometimes operator intervention is required) *.

EVO.1 can independently transport goods at production and industrial enterprises, warehouse complexes and other facilities where freight transport is usually used and regular movement of material and technical resources is required.

The safety of the EVO.1 is ensured by a redundant pneumatic braking system, a 360 ° view around the platform, an automatic diagnostics system and a remote stop system. The platform can urgently stop both automatically and by a remote operator. EVO.1 distinguishes and interprets road signs, markings, curbs and other road infrastructure and objects on the territory of work (houses, poles, etc.). All events during the online movement are transmitted for analysis and control to the control room.

The introduction and commissioning of the unmanned platform took two weeks, the autonomy after implementation is 100%. An important advantage of using this type of Evocargo electric cargo vehicles is the ability to use an unmanned platform in 24/7 mode, saving fuel and the personnel involved (1 remote dispatcher instead of 5 drivers), reducing the risks associated with the human factor.

We plan to conduct full-fledged tests and analyze the effectiveness of using the drone, including in the conditions of autumn bad weather. If they are successful, we will consider the possibilities of developing an unmanned project, - said Alexey Kelarev, CEO of Marvel-Logistics.
