2023: Internet connection in the village of Yuryung-Haya, Anbar district

The northernmost region of the Far East is completely covered by high-speed Internet. This was announced on September 4, 2023 by the press center of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in Moscow.

A 143 km long fiber-optic communication line was laid in the village of Yuryung-Khaya in the Anbar district of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) from the regional center of Saskylakh. This settlement has become the northernmost point of the Far East with high-speed Internet, and the Anabar region is the first Arctic region fully connected to the fiber-optic network.

In 2020, high-speed Internet appeared in the Oleneksky district, in the villages of Olenek and Kharyalakh, in 2021 - in the village of Zhilinda. In 2022, communication lines reached the village of Saskylakh, Anabar district, and from there in a short time they were laid to the village of Yuryung-Haya. The total length of the Olenek-Saskylakh-Yuryung-Haya fiber-optic line is 683 km.

We are participating in a historical event - the Anabar ulus became the first Arctic ulus, where all settlements are connected to the FOCL. In fact, this is a symbol of the serious changes that have occurred in the field of information communications of our republic. About 10 years ago, there was no fiber in the city of Yakutsk, and now we are already entering the shore of the Arctic Ocean. I would like to thank Rostelecom for the work of employees who, in the extremely difficult conditions of the Arctic, have reached from Olenka to the ocean to Yuryung-Khai since 2020, laying fiber optic lines through the settlements of Oleneksky and Anabarsky uluses, Aysen Nikolaev said.

According to him, the republic is moving towards the main goal - to provide high-speed Internet to all Arctic regions of Yakutia. The next municipality where the VOLS will be laid will be the Zhigansky district.

I cannot but mention the project "Synergy of the Arctic," which we are implementing together with the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation. The project is global, as a result of its implementation, 7 thousand kilometers of fiber optic in our Arctic should be laid, and all 13 districts will receive a fiber optic communication line. We very much hope that by the end of the year fiber will come to the Zhigansky district, to Zhigansk. My conviction is that people in the Arctic should enjoy the same benefits as all residents of the republic on the same conditions, - added the head of the republic of Yakutia.

With the arrival of the FOCL, new digital products and services are being opened before the residents of the village of Yuryung-Haya, unlimited tariff plans for high-speed Internet access will become available, new conditions will appear for the successful implementation of projects and the development of local business.

4 socially significant objects of the village are connected to optical networks: school, administration, cultural center, kindergarten. The construction of an internal optical network using GPON technology ("optics in every house") is underway.

As the Minister of Innovation, Digital Development and Infocommunication Technologies of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Anatoly Semenov noted, thanks to the tremendous work of the Government of Yakutia and telecom operators, fiber optic was carried out in the region to almost all settlements where 92% of the region's population lives. With the arrival of FOCL in the Arctic regions, tariffs for citizens are reduced by 100 or even more times.

In December 2020, an agreement was signed between the government of Yakutia, PJSC Rostelecom, the administrations of the Anabar National Dolgan-Evenki Ulus and the Olenek Evenki National District on joint activities in the implementation of an investment infrastructure project for the construction of fiber-optic lines along the route from. Olenek - s. Zhilinda - s. Saskylakh - s. Yuryung-Khaya.

2022: Completion of the construction of the fiber-optic line in the second Arctic region of Yakutia

In the village of Saskylakh, Anabarsky district of Yakutia, construction of fiber-optical communication lines was completed. This is the second Arctic region of Yakutia, which has switched from a satellite channel to a fiber optic network. The head of the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia Maksut Shadayev and the head of Yakutia Aysen Nikolaev took part in the launch ceremony. This was announced on November 25, 2022 by the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

Without access to the Internet, life is difficult to imagine, this is a necessary condition for the comfort of people's lives. This is just the beginning, we agreed with the head of the republic that we will continue to build fiber-optic lines in the Arctic regions so that all residents of the republic have Internet access and communication, "said Maksut Shadayev.

As the head of Yakutia noted, the appearance of high-speed Internet in the Arctic is a significant event and a point of development for the Anabar region. Thanks to the FOCL, telemedicine consultations will begin to develop in the region, the quality of education will increase due to the introduction of digital technologies.

For many years, our Arctic has been cut off from the world Internet. Now, having passed through Olenyok and Zhilinda, the line reached Saskylakh, and in the coming months the work will allow you to reach Yuryung Hai and reach almost the coast of the Arctic Ocean. These are the first steps under our Arctic Synergy program, two Arctic regions are already connected to high-speed Internet, 11 more remain. I am sure that with the support of the government of our country and the ministry headed by Maksut Igorevich Shadaev, we will solve this problem. This is a wonderful event in the centenary of the republic for our entire Yakut Arctic, - said Aysen Nikolaev.

As Andrei Kartashov, director of the Far East macro-regional branch of PJSC Rostelecom, emphasized, the republic, together with the company, carried out a lot of work on the construction of an optical communication line from the village of Zhilinda, Rostelecom district, to the village of Saskylakh, Anabarsky district. The fiber-optic line is 311 km long and laid over a difficult landscape in harsh climatic conditions. The Institute of Permafrost Studies of the SB RAS also took part in the implementation of the project.

In the near future time , work will be completed on connecting 22 social facilities in the village to optical networks, in December 2022 they will modernize the cellular communication network to the standard/. 4GLTE

With the support of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, the Arctic Synergy project is being implemented in Yakutia, thanks to which the republic plans to connect all regional centers of Arctic regions to high-speed Internet by the end of 2025. The project will significantly improve the quality of electronic public services and reduce the cost of Internet tariffs in the Arctic by almost a hundred times. Design and survey work will begin in 2023. For the implementation of the project, the federal center will send funds to the region in the amount of 50% of its total cost.

As of November 2022, over 13 thousand kilometers of VOLS were built on the territory of Yakutia, 373 settlements are connected, in which over 90% of the republic's population live. In 2020, the first Arctic region, Oleneksky, is connected to the FOCL. The work was carried out within the framework of a municipal-private partnership.
