2022: Arrest for fraud in the supply of computers to medical institutions

In October 2022, a criminal case was initiated against businessman Soslan Beriev under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code. At the same time, the entrepreneur was placed in a pre-trial detention center, where he will stay at least until January 17, 2023.

According to investigators, Beriev is the alleged initiator of the creation of S-te LLC in the Samara region. The organization received state contracts, including for the supply of computer equipment to medical institutions. According to preliminary data, the money could partially be withdrawn.

In 2020, S-te signed a state contract in the amount of 21.8 million rubles for the supply of printers, bar code scanners, thermal printers. The customer is the state institution of the Samara region "Samarafarmatsiya." In 2022, the same organization ordered hardware and software complexes for 41 million rubles from S-te LLC. In 2021, the company participated in three procurement tenders, but no contracts were concluded with it.

Lawyer Soslan Beriev said during a court hearing on December 7 that the businessman was ready to compensate the regional budget for the damage caused.

As for the reproaches of the investigation party that Beriev for the entire period of the investigation did not attempt to compensate for the damage in this criminal case, then, Your Honor, the defense party sent a petition to the investigator to provide us with the details of the injured person, indicate the injured person and the amount of damage. And we will immediately extinguish it ourselves. The law allows it. To which we received an answer from the investigator that the amount of damage has not been established and he cannot provide details, the lawyer said.

Soslan Beriev, as noted by local media, studied at the university together with Aslanbek Mairamukaev, who was appointed Deputy Minister of Health of the Samara Region in February 2019.[1]
