Tomsk State University and GLONASS JSC are introducing an intelligent emergency safety system for universities. GLONASS announced this on December 13, 2022.

In one of the TSG housings, the equipment of the navigation and coherent component of such a system is installed. In particular, sensors for indoor navigation were installed, a network was created, a communications video processing system was launched, information stationary emergency call buttons were installed, the integration with systems university was conducted and deployed. situational center Special for mobile application students and teachers determines their location with an accuracy of 5 meters even inside buildings, allows you to quickly notify of an emergency and, with the help of incoming commands, navigate for a quick and safe exit from the incident zone. For example, the system will indicate the route or, depending on the situation, will give the command to remain in the audience, which is currently safer than evacuation.

All information on the location and number of people potentially in the emergency zone will go to the situation center of the university with the possibility of transmitting a signal for help to Service-112 through the ERA-GLONASS state information system.

Such a decision will reduce the response time of emergency services, quickly identify and localize possible threats, ensure navigation in any emergency situation, preserve the lives and health of students, staff and rescuers.

TSU will supplement the indoor navigation project with its own scientific competencies in the field of security technologies. Thanks to separate developments of the university, for example, the ability to combine indornavigation with a face recognition program, the system will expand. To develop this project, a Center for Security and Navigation Information Systems was created on the basis of TSU, in the future these technologies can be broadcast to all organizations of the Big University of Tomsk, and more broadly to the country, - said the rector of TSU Eduard Galazhinsky.

According to the results of testing, GLONASS JSC and TSU will join forces to further scale up the intellectual system of integrated safety in an emergency to other universities in the country.

Joint work with Tomsk State University forms a "smart" security system using artificial intelligence. Within the framework of this project, we integrate a whole range of various Russian solutions: from emergency warning based on ERA-GLONASS to a complex of navigation and information technologies inside buildings and on campus. In the future, a completely new integrated approach will ensure a modern level of security for more than 60 thousand Tomsk students and millions of university students in Russia, - said Alexey Raikevich.

In addition, in everyday life, the system will become the basis for a digital ecosystem of comfort for students and visitors to TSU, it will help to build optimal routes online when moving between university premises and quickly find the necessary audiences.
