2023: Presenting the image of an agro-bot
On January 31, 2023, Cognitive Pilot introduced the image of a robot for soil analysis Cognitive Soil Analyzer, which she announced at the end of 2022. The company has recently been devoting time to the design issues of unmanned artificial intelligence systems that it is developing in promising areas of the agro-industry.
We worked a lot on the image of the robot agronomist of the future - a tool that can provide the next level of management of agro-farms. To do this, we attracted famous designers, but then decided to test the capabilities of neural networks as well. It is a tool for creating creative models of robotics. We reviewed more than 1,000 drawings. As a result, the prototype obtained using the network fully satisfied us according to the list of design requirements. It was taken by us as a basis and then modified for the functionality of Cognitive Soil Analyzer, which is ergonomically and compactly placed in the model. We expect that a smart, unmanned device will appear on our fields in 2-3 years. told Olga Uskova, CEO of Cognitive Pilot |
We are interested in various areas of use of AI, including in the agro-industrial complex. The design of unmanned artificial intelligence systems, carried out by Cognitive Pilot specialists using neural networks, will solve a number of important problems in the industry. told Natalia Chernysheva, director of the AgroTech direction biomedical of the Fund's technology cluster Skolkovo"" |
According to the company, Cognitive Soil Analyzer is designed to measure the physicochemical parameters of the soil based on the data of its spectrometric analysis and zonal application of fertilizers (application of fertilizers only to those areas where it is in demand and in the required proportion), which makes it possible to build an effective system for managing the process of growing crops, ensuring sustainable profitability of farms in the context of a volatile market and continuing growth in the cost of basic materials.
Measurements of soil indicators are carried out automatically, in-line, when moving along a given route with a given frequency, depending on agronomic requirements. To obtain the required measurement accuracy, a grid of measurements with points every 25, 50 or 100 m or other resolution set by the user is used. The data is stored as soil parameter sets that reference the coordinates of the measurement points. The complex allows obtaining the most important agronomic indicators of the soil, such as the content of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, hydrogen, salinity, moisture, temperature, density and other parameters.
The result of Cognitive Soil Analyzer is an optimal field flow chart containing the distribution of indicators of the content of chemical elements, acidity, density and other measured parameters by its area.
At the end of 2022, Cognitive Pilot won the competition of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia for the development of the Cognitive Soil Analyzer project and its preparation for serial production in Russia, based on domestic electronic components. The competition was held within the framework of the state program "Scientific and Technological development of the Russian Federation. " According to the business plan of the project approved with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, it is planned to start selling Cognitive Soil Analyzer by 2026.
2022: Soil analysis robot announcement
In mid-December 2022, Cognitive Pilot announced the development of a complex of agronomic analysis of soil composition and condition. The product, called Cognitive Soil Analyzer, saves up to 25% of fertilizers, the developers say.
The device is attached to vehicles, including unmanned ones. Using a radiating element and sensors that record the value of the reflected electromagnetic signal, Cognitive Soil Analyzer conducts spectral analysis of the soil to a depth of 1 m.
The complex will make it possible to obtain the most important agronomic indicators of the soil: the content of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, hydrogen, salinity, moisture, temperature, density, etc.
The result of Cognitive Soil Analyzer is a field map containing the distribution of indicators of the content of chemical elements, acidity, density and other measured parameters by its area.
On the basis of the field map, a prescription map is formed, which is loaded into the autopilot system by a tractor and allows the machine, when moving, to autonomously control the process of applying fertilizers, scattering them in a metered manner in accordance with previously defined standards, based on rapid soil analysis.
{{quote 'What does this mean in plain language? This means that now we are releasing a cart with a "robotic agronomist" on the field, which moves ro the ground and accurately maps every few meters what and how much you need to contribute to the plant so that everything is OK, "says Olga Uskova, CEO of Cognitive Pilot. - Expensive fertilizers, underfed, overfed, underfilled, etc. will go into the past. }} The device will be manufactured at the Cognitive Pilot robotic factory in Tomsk. The company is going to promote the new solution in foreign markets, primarily in Brazil, Argentina, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Belarus.
