Content

On November 17, 2010 in the Technology Center Microsoft (Moscow) there underwent the round table "Effective management of supply chains and cargo transportation: logistics, transport, a warehouse" which organizers were a consulting company IT-Box and Microsoft corporation. Among participants at the event there were CEOs, CIO and logistics directors of the large transport and logistic companies. Information the partner of a round table acted the TAdviser portal.

The subject of complex approach to process of automation found continuation in a speech of the Chief information officer of Atlantic Group Dmitry Batsyura which told about process of implementation of the transport and logistic solution of IT-Box company based on Microsoft Dynamics AX. Mr. Batsyuro in detail stopped on the most interesting funktsionalnost of this project: the cost accounting according to standards and superstandards, creation of Business Process Management Suite and the workflow system based on Microsoft Dynamics AX. The information system created in Atlantic Group provided support to dynamically growing business and for a year of commercial operation proved the efficiency. Guests of an action were interested in experience of colleagues from Atlantic Group, however Dmitry Batsyuro urged the audience to perceive the ERP system, first of all, as a basis for gradual changes according to quality management methodology.

Before beginning

Before implementation of a new ERP system in the company, business process automation was provided with a complex from several separate information systems (IS), including products from 1C, Terrasoft Sales and less known.

Carried to the main shortcomings of the IC used in the company: lack of a possibility of receiving relevant and corresponding (without errors) information for operational management of the main business processes, incomplete automation of basic processes, significant technological limits on completion of programs, presence of large volume of manual work, inconvenience of work with the user interface of systems, lack of necessary reports that did not allow to make the operational and weighed management decisions. Restrictions on performance of the current systems interfered with further development of the company.

The large volume of information on productive activity of the company was conducted out of the IC, generally in separate files of spreadsheets.

Task

Creation of the reliable, scalable and high-performance CIS providing support of the main business processes corresponding to the current organization and functional structure of the companies providing support of development of the company in the medium term was a main objective of the project.

The decision to apply "Management of delivery and cargo transportation was made: Logistics, transport, a warehouse" based on Microsoft Dynamics AX. As the partner in implementation the IT-Box company was selected.

Implementation

The project was executed within 12 months and consisted of several implementation stages.

Achievements

In addition to main objectives also other project tasks were implemented:

  • the information security system is created;
  • possibilities of deception and fraud in the company are eliminated.

By-product

Thanks to introduction of a new control system over costs on deviations, considerable volumes of losses of money in the course of execution of requests were revealed. They made from 10000 euros a month.

Multiple spaces in real functioning of business processes are revealed and eliminated that allowed to increase quality and speed of execution of requests.

The efficiency of control of receivables increased, the reports allowing to obtain statistical data on order amounts of clients and also on how orders are paid were developed. Data were used for effective planning of cash flow.

The motivational component of work of personnel raised. Thanks to a new system, the mechanism of awarding became transparent for the staff of the company. Due to use of the mechanism of tasks and notifications processes of interaction of staff of different divisions are improved.
