2023: Modernization of transport network in southern Russia

N3COM, a Russian brand of telecommunications equipment, on November 30, 2023 provided equipment for the modernization of the network of one of the telecom operators PJSC Vimpelcom, integrating it into the existing infrastructure built on the solutions of the world's leading manufacturers. This allowed not only to ensure the scalability and manageability of the network, but also to preserve the customer's investment in the infrastructure.

The N3COM transport network runs from Moscow (M9 highway) to Stavropol with links to the main cities - economic centers: Podolsk - Tula - Lipetsk - Voronezh - Rostov-on-Don - Krasnodar and ends at the communication center of the VimpelCom branch in Stavropol.

The installed equipment on the route with a length of more than 2000 km provides capacity on the 2TB/s line for client traffic, and in the future the throughput can be expanded to 15.6TB/s.

The created infrastructure is integrated with optical networks similar in technical characteristics, which will eventually allow the operator to use the seamless fiber-optic fiber infrastructure throughout its entire length.

All work on the construction of trunk communication channels was carried out by certified specialists of the company "ADV Consulting": design and survey, construction and installation and commissioning works, as well as laboratory testing, adjustment and testing of channels.

The N3COM solution is flexible and scalable with high backbone capacity, a wide range of client interfaces, and multiple, robust carrier-class protection.

Amplification points located along the fiber optic line are a modular solution that allows you to flexibly increase capacity and power with all the necessary life support and security systems, as well as integrate networks built on various technologies, providing access to all types of services.

Our company has been implementing integration projects of various complexity for almost 30 years. We have extensive experience with various global manufacturers of network equipment and are well aware of the high requirements for equipment our customers have. Therefore, we faced a very difficult task to offer the federal telecom operator a solution that would allow us to modernize the existing network while maintaining its performance, security and uninterrupted operation. The introduction of the company's solutions N3COM made it possible to implement the plan, - commented Alexey Frolov, General Director of ADV Consulting LLC.

Modernization of the transport network in the south of the country is our key task to improve the reliability and survivability of the service for beeline subscribers. Thanks to our partners from ADV Consulting and N3COM, we completed all the work, even despite the departure of Western vendors from the Russian market. This work will allow our subscribers to access international servers at high speed, improve the quality of communication and make the Internet connection more stable. We continue to build a reliable network infrastructure that will serve as the basis for the development of various services and services for our customers for many years to come, "said Valery Shorzhin, Executive Vice President for Technology, PJSC VimpelCom.

2022: Operator Class Equipment Testing

N3COM, a Russian operator-grade network telecommunications equipment manufacturer, has jointly tested its solutions with VimpelCom (TM beeline). Testing was carried out with the direct participation of experts from the St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications named after Prof. M.A. Bonch-Bruevich. The company N3Com announced this on January 12, 2022.

The tests took place in several stages. At the first stage, comprehensive testing was carried out in the laboratory: a stand was assembled on which protocols, services, and reservation mechanisms were tested.

At the second stage, tests were carried out on a commercial network to confirm the KPI of client services in high-load areas and integration with operator systems. Testing was carried out on the segments of the access level network for connecting end clients and transit nodes. The mechanisms of integration, connection of base stations, redundancy, scalability of solutions, etc. were worked out.

During the tests software , the hardware capabilities were also refined at the request of the customer. Some mechanisms have been improved, including QoS, MPLS tunnel state control through BFD, Synchronous synchronization support Ethernet and flexible packet buffer to combat traffic microbursts.

In the future, beeline plans to commercially operate N3COM equipment on its transport network.
