2021: Use of Smart Engines technologies for passport recognition, driver's license and STS

RESO-Garantia has chosen the Smart Engines solution for recognizing documents necessary for issuing insurance policies via the Internet. Based on the Smart ID Engine solution, the Unified RESO-Guarantee Information System implements the functionality of extracting these passports of the Russian Federation, driver's licenses and vehicle registration certificates (STS). The software product works in the RESO-Guarantee information loop and ensures the security of client data processing, since in the process of image recognition they are not transferred to third-party services.

To apply for an insurance policy via the Internet, current and new customers are invited to register in their Personal Account by entering their personal information. To buy an OSAGO or casco policy, you also need to enter data on the insurer and the object of insurance, while downloading images of supporting documents. These can be either scanned copies or photographs.

The downloaded images are sent to the RESO-Warranty server, on which the recognition service is installed. Smart ID Engine allows you to determine the type of document and recognize the data necessary for applying for insurance policies. Further, the data can be automatically entered into the corresponding fields of the form filled out by the client in the Personal Account. After the user checks the applications are sent to the following stages of registration.

Recognition of the passport of the Russian Federation and other documents is also planned to be used for additional automatic checks of client data in the RESO-Guarantee information systems.
