2023: System Registration

A Skolkovo resident has registered AI-based technology in dentistry. The Skolkovo Foundation announced this on February 7, 2023.

It creates a virtual anatomical 3D model of the patient's dental system, with which a doctor can quickly and effectively detect pathologies or signs of treatment. NMF FDLAB DENTOMO technology improves diagnostic accuracy by up to 95%.

It is based on algorithms the analysis of image processing for the interpretation of cone-beam tomography. It works with the help of ultra-precise neuronets and, machine vision as well as deep: not machine learning only on a large number, but data also thanks to corrections and notes that the dentist makes. The technology provides the doctor with more detailed three-dimensional information information about the human dentofacial system than standard and, CT roentgenograms and also reduces the cost of describing them.

{{quote 'author = said Elena Fadeeva, project manager of the Skolkovo Foundation's biomedical technology cluster.|Digitalization in medicine and dentistry, in particular, is a priority area for the development of the industry. The marketing authorization allows our resident to market a product based on the AI of dental radiology. DENTOMO technology significantly reduces the time for decoding cone beam tomography. Which is very valuable, the technology will help the dentist conduct a more transparent and understandable dialogue with the patient based on the "visual map." The perspective for the development of DENTOMO technology is in the creation of virtual 3D models that optimize the reconstruction of the elements of the maxillary system for maxillofacial operations and for use in orthodontics, }}

As of February 2023, DENTOMO determines up to 15 characteristics of the dental system: 5 diseases - caries, abrasion, non-removed root, retinated tooth and dystopia, and 10 signs of dental or endodontic treatment - crowns, fillings, dental bridges, implants, braces, retainers, veneers, pins, sealed and unsolicited root canals. Work is underway to expand the functionality of the technology.

It can be used in all areas of dentistry, including orthodontics and maxillofacial surgery, for analysis, planning and reconstruction. It automates and speeds up the process of examination of pathologies and eliminates the "human factor" - it reduces the number of errors in the diagnosis of diseases, and artificial intelligence helps to draw up plans for personalized treatment for each patient.

The development of artificial intelligence for dentistry is a priority area of our company. DENTOMO technology has passed clinical and technical tests and was registered with Roszdravnadzor as an artificial intelligence medical device for analyzing dental computer tomograms. The technology is in great demand by specialized specialists and will significantly improve diagnostics in dentistry,
noted Alexander Obrubov, medical director of NMF FDLAB.
