Biography
Born on April 12, 1968 in the city of Cheremkhovo, Irkutsk Region.
From 1986 to 1988 he served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the USSR.
In 1994 he graduated with honors from the Novosibirsk Law Institute (branch of TSU) with a degree in Jurisprudence.
In 2003 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of legal sciences on the topic "Legal status of the election commission of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation in the context of reforming electoral legislation."
1994: Work in Banking
Since 1994, for eight years he worked in the banking and commercial spheres.
1998: Work at the Novosibirsk Law Institute
From 1998 to 2002 he worked at the Novosibirsk Law Institute (branch of TSU) at the Department of State History and Law. He taught the constitutional law of Russia, municipal law, the electoral system of the Russian Federation.
2002: Chairman of the Election Commission of the city of Novosibirsk
In 2002, he took office as Chairman of the Election Commission of the city of Novosibirsk.
2011
Vice Mayor of Novosibirsk
In 2011, he moved to a senior position in the administration of the city of Novosibirsk, where for six months he was vice mayor of Novosibirsk under the leadership of Vladimir Filippovich Gorodetsky.
Chairman of the Election Commission of the Novosibirsk Region
From 2011 to 2015, he served as Chairman of the Election Commission of the Novosibirsk Region.
2015: First Deputy Governor of Novosibirsk Region
Since October 26, 2015 he was the acting First Deputy Governor of the region. At the session of the Legislative Assembly of the region, the deputies agreed on the appointment and on October 30, 2015, Governor Vladimir Gorodetsky signed a decree appointing Yuri Petukhov to the post of First Deputy Governor of the Novosibirsk Region.
2021: 40th place in the ranking of regional IT officials in terms of income
For the period from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021, the family income of the first deputy governor of the Novosibirsk region Yuri Petukhov amounted to 7.1 million rubles. Awards
In 2004, by a decision of the Council of the Public Organization "Union of Lawyers of the Novosibirsk Region," he received the honorary highest legal award "Siberian Themis."
For his great personal contribution to the development of the electoral system, he was awarded the medal of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, II degree (2014), and in 2022 he was awarded the medal of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, 1st degree[2] of[2].
