Rosatom is transferring employees to the Russian video conferencing system (VKS) TrueConf Server instead of Polycom, Cisco and Skype solutions. This became known on March 10, 2023.
The engineering division of Rosatom State Corporation, which is engaged in the construction of nuclear power plants, has connected more than 1,500 employees to TrueConf to hold working meetings both in Russia and abroad (in Bangladesh, Egypt, Hungary). TrueConf video communication is used by company employees when discussing work issues in several formats. The company holds scheduled meetings and working video meetings for urgent response and solving urgent issues, another popular format is the holding of webinars, during which reports are made by employees of various departments and the general director of the company.
In addition, the TrueConf Room software solution was introduced, designed to turn a PC into a full-fledged VKS terminal, on the basis of which 7 meeting rooms were equipped. The TrueConf Server and TrueConf Room-based division hosts up to 20 group videoconferences each day with up to 60 employees.
It is noted that one of the criteria when choosing a domestic VKS platform for the Rosatom engineering division was the opportunity to provide employees with safe communication tools, which would allow you to constantly communicate in asynchronous mode using corporate chats, available both on work computers and on personal devices of employees - including, on smartphones and tablets based on Android and iOS. Also, given the increase in the number of conferences held, to reduce the burden on the IT department, it was necessary to quickly create and moderate conferences by each employee directly from the workplace and from the meeting room.[1]
