The Ascon company and Cloud IT service provider announced the beginning of providing access to the KOMPAS-3D CAD system according to the SaaS model. In such scale into commercial operation of CAD from "cloud" it is brought for the first time in the world.

The companies "Ascon" also Cloud IT announced start of sales of an automated design engineering system KOMPAS-3D on model SaaS (Software as a Service, software as service). Cloud IT acts in this case as service provider of services. "Our task in the project – to provide the platform for software developer, to provide all necessary services, security and billing. We will unroll more than ten different KOMPAS-3D configurations which can be paid monthly", - the CEO of Cloud IT said Igor the Gonebny.

As Oleg Zykov told TAdviser, the head of perspective projects of Ascon, the cost of the monthly subscription on access to service will make from 1000 to 4000 rubles depending on KOMPAS-3D complete set. Answering a question of clients of solution SaaS, he noted that they are absent yet as service is just started, but "the flow of registration for test access goes continuously, especially at night". Test access is provided free of charge for 5 days.

Oleg Zykov emphasized that service will be interesting, first of all, to small business, business owners. It is profitable and to temporary projects of the enterprises of any scale, to the mobile staff of the companies which are often leaving in business trips on remote objects. And in the form of a private cloud - for large enterprises and corporations. After the first public submissions of the project requests from the defense enterprises for deployment of KOMPAS-3D in a private cloud arrived, he noted.

The Ascon company lays claim to the first-ever company which started commercial a solution CAD according to the SaaS model. If to be exact, then at the beginning of this year other vendor of a CAD with a world name, Autodesk company, started the "cloud" version of AutoCAD, experts of Softline Cloud Services reminded. "In spite of the fact that it is not the first a CAD from a cloud, it is for the first time made by our Russian developers and our, Russian, service provider", - representatives of the project added.

According to Ruslan Zayedinov, the head of DPC of Croc company, in global sense in the solution is not present anything the innovation as in the market there are "many examples of how complex expensive systems extend according to the SaaS model". As the SaaS model becomes more popular around the world, many large vendors gradually pass into virtual reality, offering the products according to the similar scheme, he noted.

In the world even if there is also something similar, then to the Russian users, most likely, it is unavailable and it is expensive, Dmitry Slinkov, the board member of Corus Consulting commented on start of service. "Therefore - he is gallant, Ascon and he is gallant, Cloud IT. Such solution - real break is also very useful for all to whom it is really necessary to a CAD from time to time", - he said.

Really, in the form of an experiment in this or that type many western CAD companies has cloud projects (SolidWorks Three-dimensional project environment, Autodesk). But so far, the fact-finding projects, technology character which are not connected with full commercial use of service and transition to a new business model of relationship of vendor and the user say in Ascon all this.

"a CAD system on a commercial basis in a cloud is for the first time started by Ascon, - Oleg Zykov parried. So far the company does not set any forecasts and the financial purposes for this project. "Actually we open a new segment of the market of a CAD, for us it is a step to the unknown future", - Oleg Zykov concluded.
