Phuoc Thanh Medical Station in Vietnam has launched a telemedicine service based on TrueConf technologies for remote consultations and patient examinations. Residents of the commune will now be able to get qualified medical care without having to visit other health centres in the Củ Chi area. This was announced on April 28, 2023 by representatives of TrueConf.

As reported, the station in Phuoc Thanh provides primary health care to more than 10,000 residents of the commune. However, the burden on the station staff was constantly increasing due to the lack of specialized specialists, and therefore most patients were forced to visit remote medical centers for examinations and consultations with pediatricians, ophthalmologists, surgeons, otolaryngologists and other specialists. In addition, station staff had to regularly visit patients in remote hospitals throughout the district, which was accompanied by increased transport costs and a decrease in the number of patient consultations.

The management of the institution decided to launch a telemedicine service that would provide patients with timely qualified care and reduce the number of long trips between medical stations. Optimization of workflows and digitalization of medical care in Phuoc Thanh became possible thanks to the introduction of the Russian videoconferencing platform TrueConf Server.

The TrueConf platform has been deployed inside the corporate network of the medical station, storage and processing data is carried out on server hardware hospitals, which gives employees full control over communications and excludes unauthorized access to confidential ones. information

Doctors' workplaces and medical offices of the station were connected to the telemedicine system. For remote consultations, the offices have equipped a PC with TrueConf applications for Windows, macOS and Linux, which allow patients to be examined in UltraHD 4K resolution, as well as optimal resolution webcams.

The VKS platform allows doctors to quickly connect colleagues from other medical centers to consultations and collect online consultations to more accurately determine the diagnosis and minimize the risks of medical errors. Doctors can record video calls to re-examine them, and all information is stored in the medical station's IT infrastructure.

The telemedicine system allowed for safe remote interaction between doctors and patients of 20 hospitals in the Củ Chi area, as well as providing staff with secure tools to conduct an unlimited number of online consultations. The creation of a telemedicine system based on TrueConf made it possible to digitalize meetings, optimize the process of serving the patients of the commune, reduce the burden on staff, minimize the risk of medical errors, and also eliminate the need for patients to travel for long trips between all Chi Củ stations. In addition, the introduction of TrueConf VKS allowed to reduce transport costs for doctors by replacing face-to-face consultations with remote ones.
