Cyber ​ ​ Backup protects large amounts of data at GAZ enterprises. This was announced on May 5, 2023 by Cyberprotect.

GAZ enterprises have created a unified IT infrastructure that combines local systems of all structures into a common corporate network. On this foundation, all corporate information systems and services are built with centralized technical support.

Our company has developed and implemented a corporate ERP system of KISU GAZ, financial information systems based on, 1C,\ electronic document flow Docsvision the Russian PLMPDM system T-Flex and others are used for maintenance and accounting, - said Nikolai Epifanov, head of the corporate network services department of GAZ.

Information infrastructure of the holding for May 2023:

• more than 5 thousand workstations,
• over 200 physical servers,
• about 100 virtual servers.

Previously, the company data protection used various solutions of foreign developers, but the company had the need to switch to a single domestic solution that would ensure guaranteed protection, data ensure continuity of work processes and prompt recovery in the event of a failure. Task

It was necessary to create a single, centralized system for backup and recovery of data at all production sites.

The goals of implementing a comprehensive IT solution are:

• Standardization of the software used;
• Unify backup and recovery processes
• Implementation of Russian IT solutions independent of Western companies.

This solution had to meet rather stringent requirements: reliability, security, excellent performance and high speed in an infrastructure with a large number of workplaces and servers. The ease of configuration and administration, low load on information resources and quick recovery were also important, - said Nikolai Epifanov.

GAZ chose two versions:

• Cyber Backup Advanced Edition for Physical Server,
• Cyber Backup Advanced edition for virtualization platform.

GAZ employees were engaged in the implementation of a backup and recovery system based on Cyber ​ ​ Backup on their own. When working questions arose, they asked for advice from the technical support service of Cyberprotect. As noted in the management of corporate network services, one of the advantages of this IT solution is the ease of deployment and configuration of the system. A full-time system administrator will cope with this task without the involvement of external specialists.

The process of deploying the system and switching from foreign products to Cyber ​ ​ Backup was phased. First, the software was implemented at the main production site of GAZ in Nizhny Novgorod. This stage took about 6 months. Then the new solution was scaled to other enterprises. It took about a year.

Using the Cyber ​ ​ Backup system helps the company back up large amounts of data - more than 250 TB. The new system has already passed all the checks, proving its effectiveness in real conditions.
