2023: Implementation of the Mobile Maintenance Solution

On May 10, 2023, the United Metallurgical Company (OMK) shared how to increase the efficiency of equipment repairs using the Mobile Maintenance System. About the experience of OMK told the head of projects "OMK-IT" Alexander Reshetnikov.

The application "Mobile maintenance (maintenance and repair of equipment)" from the Russian developer was introduced at the Vyksa OMK plant in the Nizhny Novgorod region. In the future, this will reduce equipment downtime, optimize the workload of repair personnel, and facilitate the prompt transfer of data to repair planners.

Thus, in the main and auxiliary workshops, the enterprises created data transmission networks, updated the software, equipped the plant with NFC tags, purchased terminals with which they read information about the equipment. Thus, employees of repair departments promptly receive information about equipment, register defects, receive and monitor repair tasks, track the time of troubleshooting.

OMK IT employees, together with the Russian software supplier, finalized the application for specific tasks of the plant, expanded the functionality of the Mobile Maintenance System: they began to record the fact of using and writing off materials, indicate emergency and non-repair work, for example, for the manufacture of non-standard equipment. They also implemented work on a mobile device for collecting data in offline mode - the application allows you to work in a complete absence of communication and not lose the data entered during time breaks. In the future, we plan to replicate the experience of the Vyksa plant to other enterprises of the company, - commented Alexander Reshetnikov, project manager at OMK Information Technologies.
