2024: Start of Sales
In early June 2024, Sightful announced sales of the Spacetop G1 AR-screen laptop. Its price is $1,900.
The new laptop comes with a pair of augmented reality (AR) glasses, in this case a modified version of the Xreal Air 2 Pro. Thanks to this, the laptop can project a "virtual workspace" in front of the user, replacing the 100-inch screen. Unlike competitors focused on AR entertainment, Sightful presented its development as a working tool. The manufacturer claims that such a laptop is especially convenient when working in cramped rooms, for example, on an airplane, and also allows users to take advantage of several monitors without problems associated with real equipment.
The developers took into account user feedback and improved the hardware and operating system SpaceOS. Although outwardly the SpaceTop G1 resembles the Spacetop demo model presented in 2023, the developers have improved a number of characteristics: the new model is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon QCS8550 processor with Adreno 740, 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB of UFS3.1 flash memory, as well as built-in artificial intelligence functions. The laptop supports 63-watt USB-C charging, charging to 85% in less than 2 hours and providing 7 hours of battery life.
The glasses project a 90Hz image, unlike the 72Hz demo model, with the same 1080p resolution as before. However, the field of view (FOV) has decreased. Sightful reports that the viewing angle of the new laptop is now 50 degrees, while for the demonstration model this value was 53 degrees. However, a wider field of view means a greater distance between pixels, resulting in a grainier image, so the developers compromised.[1]

Spacetop is a fairly light device. Its mass is about 1.5 kg along with an AR headset.
The "heart" of the laptop is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 single-chip system, which carries an eight-core Kryo 585 processor and an Ardeno 650 graphics accelerator. The choice of this particular SoC in Sightful is explained by the presence of hardware functions for processing video signal in real time, coupled with very low power consumption, which is extremely important for a portable device.
At the same time, the battery life reaches five hours at maximum load. The built-in battery charges quickly enough - from 0 to 85% in less than two hours. The power of the charger is 65 W.
The computer has 8 GB of RAM. The built-in storage is also unable to capture the imagination with its 256 GB capacity. The device is equipped with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and 5G wireless modules, capable of operating at frequencies below 6 GHz.
The laptop also has two 10 Gb/s USB Type-C ports that support connecting external displays (Display Port 1.4). In addition, on the PC case you can find a webcam with a resolution of 2560x1920 pixels, a fingerprint scanner, as well as a miniature auxiliary screen, which, in particular, can be used to output QR codes.
