2023: Development of a domestic PAC to implement a private cloud
Delta Computers, together with its technology partner, the Scientific and Technical Center for Information Technologies ROSA (NCT IT ROSA), on the instructions of Rosenergoatom Concern (part of the Electric Power Division of Rosatom State Corporation), have developed a completely domestic software and hardware complex (PAC) for the implementation of a private cloud. The solution passed test tests and was implemented in the Concern. This was reported on June 14 in STC IT ROSA.
The transition to cloud infrastructure is a global trend. In a traditional infrastructure with disparate servers, computing resources are often used suboptimally, servers for some functions and applications are overloaded, other servers are underutilized and partially idle. At the same time, the IT department cannot quickly respond to business needs, since increasing capacity entails lengthy processes for purchasing equipment, connecting it and setting it up. The main feature of the cloud infrastructure is its flexible scalability. The cloud allows you to dynamically allocate IT resources for different loads on demand: more load - the cloud will automatically give more resources. The company does not need to keep reserve power in reserve in case of peak loads.
The concern has a large-scale IT infrastructure, and the number of information systems in the organization has grown significantly. To reduce the cost of supporting IT equipment, the company's management decided to move to the cloud infrastructure, namely to the private cloud, taking into account the specifics of the industry and information security requirements.
The PAC created on the instructions of the Concern is completely designed on the basis of domestic products and implemented as part of the implementation of the import substitution program of the Government of the Russian Federation. The decision was certified for compliance with the requirements for information protectionFSTEC of Russia by the certification body of Atomzoprochainform Center JSC, including compliance with the requirements for ensuring the security of significant objects of the critical information infrastructure of the Russian Federation. Thanks to this complex, Rosenergoatom has the opportunity to dynamically distribute the load between services, reduce the risk of downtime, and speed up the deployment of applications.
Delta Cloud Appliance was used to manage PACs, a resource management portal that now enables Group system administrators to manage their virtual infrastructure more efficiently. The PAC hardware platform consists of Delta Tioga Pass servers, Delta Argut DAEs, and Delta Akturu server chassis. And its software includes the ROSA Virtualization enterprise-level server and desktop virtualization platform created by STC IT ROSA.
The software and hardware complex that we created made it possible to increase the efficiency of infrastructure operation and optimize the work of the IT specialists of the Rosenergoatom Concern. Administration and operation of IT equipment have become significantly less labor-intensive processes in the company. In the foreseeable future, we plan to develop the product. There is no doubt that my colleagues and I from Rosenergoatom will continue to achieve our goals thanks to the well-coordinated work of expert teams, stated Andrey Chernyshev, CEO of Delta Computers.

The creation of import-substituted software and hardware systems (PAC) is one of the strategic initiatives of ROSATOM to achieve the technological sovereignty of the Russian Federation. The PAC allows us to obtain balanced and horizontally scalable hardware solutions on the Russian hardware with predicted parameters of the quality of information systems, the level of security and cost of ownership throughout the life cycle of the solution. Our cooperation has once again proved the effectiveness of cooperation between software developers, equipment manufacturers and the customer, noted Oleg Shalnov, Director of the IT Projects and Integration Management Department of the Rosenergoatom Concern.
