History

The Institute of Software Systems was created in April 1984 as a branch of the Institute of Cybernetics Problems of the USSR Academy of Sciences by decision of the USSR Government aimed at the development of computer technology and informatics in the country.

Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Alfred Karlovich Eilamazyan was appointed head of the FIPK of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.

In 1986, the Branch of the Institute of Cybernetics Problems was transformed into the Institute of Software Systems of the USSR Academy of Sciences.

In December 2008, the Institute was named after the founder of the Institute - Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences Alfred Karlovich Eilamazyan (8.08.1936 - 25.05.2003).
