2023: Installing the first smart public transport stop
In St. Petersburg, the first smart public transport stop was installed, equipped with several city systems, including a video surveillance system. So far, this is a pilot project aimed at ensuring the safety of residents of St. Petersburg. This was announced on July 4, 2023 by the press service of the vice-governor of St. Petersburg.
As of July 2023, the project is being tested, the performance of the systems is being checked, and the interaction of all responsible services is being built. When the project is put into trial operation, the cameras from the stopping pavilions of public transport will be included in the city video surveillance system. All guests and residents of St. Petersburg, if necessary, will be able to receive recordings from video cameras installed in the pavilion, - said the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Stanislav Kazarin. |
The first smart stop pavilion of public transport is located at: st. Malaya Sadovaya, d. 3/54, lit. A. It was implemented by the City Monitoring Center, a subordinate institution of the Committee for Informatization and Communications.
The pilot project includes three systems. First of all, these are video cameras with a view of the pavilion and the adjacent territory. Also, the stop has a built-in speaker, which is integrated with the regional automated system of centralized notification of the population (RASCO), designed to inform in case of emergency situations.
In addition, the stop is equipped with a module of the Speaking City system, which is designed to help people with limited mobility. Thanks to this module, blind and visually impaired people, as well as representatives of other people with limited mobility, can listen through a smartphone to information about the name of the stop, find out which public transport stops on it, the direction of its movement and the time of arrival.
As the first stage of the project, by the end of 2023, it is planned to install 200 smart stops in the Northern capital, including in the central part of the city.
