2023: Agreement to introduce machine vision technology to monitor the state of objects

PJSC MTS"" July 12, 2023 announced the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the company Rosseti Ural"" (a subsidiary of PJSC Rosseti""). The companies agreed to jointly develop digital products based on technology, and internet of things Big Data , artificial intelligence including. computer vision

The memorandum of intent on the development of joint decisions was signed by Vice President for Interaction with State Authorities of MTS PJSC Andrei Rego and General Director of Rosseti Ural Alexander Pyatigor.

The partnership of companies provides for the introduction of existing MTS digital solutions on the infrastructure of Rosseti Ural, as well as the joint development of new products. Under the agreement, MTS will assist the power grid company of the Ural Federal District in automating the collection of subscriber meter readings, as well as monitoring the facilities of Rosseti Ural for unauthorized connections to networks. Computer vision technologies will be introduced by MTS on smart video cameras that will track the illegal use of infrastructure by third parties.

In addition, MTS and Rosseti Ural will introduce a platform for finding commercial losses in power grids, operating on the basis of Big Data technologies and artificial intelligence - EnergyTool. A similar solution from MTS, which identifies suspicious areas of electricity consumption, is being implemented in another subsidiary of Rosseti PJSC (Rosseti Siberia) - last month the companies also signed a corresponding cooperation agreement.

The EnergyTool solution allows you to quickly and timely detect metering devices that transmit low readings and identify specific areas of the network where theft occurs. The statistical model of the EnergyTool platform analyzes the power consumption of subscribers based on loaded data from meters and automated power metering systems (ASCUE) and identifies characteristic signs of theft. The estimated areas where thefts occur are displayed on the map in an interface that is convenient for planning team visits.

Unaccounted for electricity consumption negatively affects the quality and reliability of power supply to our customers. Therefore, it is important for us to implement solutions that reduce the burden on our power grid infrastructure, and automate the processing of consumption data. Pilot, we will begin to use MTS technologies for machine vision to survey power grid facilities in the Perm Territory. With successful implementation, we scale the project to other territories of the company's presence - to the Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk regions, - said Alexander Pyatigor, General Director of Rosseti Ural.
