2023: Creation of a hospital on the basis of a medical center bought for 2.24 billion rubles in Moscow

On July 17, 2023, the MD Medical group of companies (the Mother and Child brand) announced the purchase of a finished hospital in Moscow for 2.24 billion rubles. In addition, it is planned to spend another 600 billion rubles on additional equipment of the medical center.

The seven-story medical center with a total area of ​ ​ 8755 square meters, acquired as part of the transaction, is located at 31 Michurinsky Prospekt. Based on the existing capacities of the acquired center in the second half of 2023, Mother and Child plans to launch a new multidisciplinary hospital MD Group Michurinsky. It will be retrofitted with new state-of-the-art medical equipment from GE Healthcare, Fujifilm and other manufacturers.

The hospital of the new hospital is designed for 60 beds, including 10 intensive care and 6 operating rooms. The capacity of the multidisciplinary center will allow up to 231,000 specialist appointments per year, as well as 1,200 IVF cycles. As noted in the company, the new hospital will offer a wide range of services for the whole family, including the provision of medical care within the framework of a surgical and therapeutic hospital, IVF, as well as functional diagnostics and outpatient care. Treatment will be carried out, including under the VHI program and compulsory medical insurance.

This transaction is fully consistent with our strategy to strengthen our positions in Moscow and the Moscow region and expand the Group's hospital segment. The acquisition of a new medical center will significantly increase the volume of medical care in Moscow, including due to the high standards of quality of medical care adopted by the MD Medical Group of Companies, as well as the favorable location of the hospital, said MD Medical CEO Mark Kurzer.[1]
