Moscow Pedagogical State University is a Russian educational and scientific institution, which includes 11 institutes, 4 faculties and branches as of July 2018 (with the accession of the Moscow State University named after M. A. Sholokhov in 2015, the number of branches increased to 9). It was founded in 1872.

The abbreviated name is MPSU, the full official name is the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Moscow Pedagogical State University."

By a decree of the President of Russia of February 2, 2009, the university was included in the State Code of Especially Valuable Objects of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of the Russian Federation.

History

2011

As of November 2011, Moscow Pedagogical State University (MPSU) is the leader in pedagogical education, which is confirmed by the rating of the Ministry of Education in the group of pedagogical and linguistic universities. At 18 educational faculties of the university, teachers of primary and secondary schools, organizers-methodologists of preschool education, teachers of secondary and higher professional educational institutions, psychologists, defectologists, sociologists, managers, lawyers, journalists are trained. As of November 2011, more than 14 thousand students are studying at the university.
