Sitronics KT develops an interactive map of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. This was announced on July 19, 2023 by Sitronics.

The multimedia map will become a convenient tool for studying the history, life and culture of different regions of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, and will tell users about indigenous peoples, the geography of the region, the modern state of the okrug.

The developer of high-tech solutions Sitronics KT (part of the Sitronics Group) will equip the school of the village of Harp (part of the city district of Labytnangi) in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug with multimedia equipment. For the educational institution, engineers will create an interactive map of the region, which will display basic historical, geographical and cultural facts. The layout is a map 2.5 meters high and almost 3 meters long with an 88-inch touchscreen that moves on rails along the entire length of the map. The system reads its location and shows the corresponding point on the map, which can be touched and launched information in text, photo, video, audio and others formats.

Several factors make the map useful: firstly, it is interactive, and secondly, it has several information layers and, depending on the selected scenario, shows specific information. For example, about the location of minerals, economic points of growth in the region, such as the Arctic port of Sabetta or the Bovanenkovo field, which is the largest in the Yamal Peninsula in terms of explored gas reserves, "said Nikolai Gorozhankin, head of education and culture at Sitronics KT.

A multimedia mock-up of the map will be installed in the hall of Harp Township High School by the beginning of the 2023-24 school year.
