Specialists of the Rostov branch of Rostelecom have developed a technical solution and integrated 332 video surveillance cameras installed in more than a hundred schools in Rostov-on-Don into the Safe City hardware and software complex. In six more educational institutions, the national provider will connect equipment to the beginning of the school year, when the overhaul will end there. Rostelecom announced this on July 24, 2023.

"Rostelecom" connected video cameras within the framework of the federal project "Digital Educational Environment." At the same time, a third of the cameras were installed thanks to joint investments of the national provider and the regional budget.

We continue to increase the number of Russian schools in which a video surveillance system is installed. In some cases, we have to create a digital infrastructure from scratch, in others we are modernizing what was built earlier. It is important that a dedicated secure communication channel is used to transmit the image. The school infrastructure is completely built on domestic equipment, - said Sergey Mordasov, vice president, director of the Rostov branch of Rostelecom.

Video cameras are installed at the main and spare entrances to school buildings in such a way that all visitors to the institution get into the lens. At the same time, one camera is directed to the entrance to the room, the other records what is happening on the street. With the help of artificial intelligence technologies, devices allow you to automatically analyze events occurring in the frame in real time and, if necessary, quickly transmit information to the appropriate rapid response services.

This project is of great social importance to the region. Educational institutions should be especially safe for both schoolchildren and teachers.
