Sberbank on August 18, 2023 announced the launch of a technological method for paying for purchases using biometrics at all cash desks of the Azbuka Vkusa retail chain. "Payment with a smile" is another step towards the development of contactless payment methods.

New Sberbank payment terminals have been installed throughout the ABC of Taste network, allowing you to accept payment in one of four ways: by card, contactless via NFC, by QR code, and now by biometrics. In the future, Sberbank plans to integrate the cards of the Vkusomania loyalty program when paying with a smile.

The service can be used by Sberbank customers: to activate the new payment method in the SberBank Online application, you need to connect a face recognition service in your profile, select a payment card and create a security code. By connecting the service to SberBank Online, purchases can be paid for simply by looking at the camera. The operation will take place even if there is no cash, bank card or phone with you.
