Beauty salons in Russia

2022: Sales of manicure training services in Russia continue to grow

The volume of the Russian market for manicure training services in 2022 reached 2.2 billion rubles, an increase of 11.1% compared to 2021. At the same time, the growth rate halved - in 2021 they were measured at + 22.7%. This is evidenced by the data of analysts of the market research agency "GuideMarket." Experts attributed the growth of the market to several factors:

  • the development of the beauty industry and increased interest in self-care and youth contributed to an increase in demand for manicure services. Manicure gradually came to be seen as a hygienic procedure.
  • social media had a significant impact on the younger generation, driving demand for manicure services.
  • the emergence of new trends in the field of nail service also contributed to the growth of the market.

Analysts note that in 2020, a drop in market volume was recorded, which is associated with quarantine restrictions imposed to combat the spread of COVID-19, as well as with the deterioration of the financial situation of the population. At the same time, in 2021 there was a significant growth of the market, which is explained by the low base and deferred demand from the previous year. In general, the dynamics of the volume of the Russian market is linear, experts say. They noted that in 2022, relative to 2018, the Russian market for manicure schools showed an increase of 30.2%.

Investors began to invest more often in beauty salons. According to Avito, the demand for the purchase or development of a franchise for the first half of 2023 increased by almost 70%. At the same time, if the opening of the barbershop requires up to 1.5 million rubles, then up to 7 million rubles should be invested in the salon, entrepreneurs working in this market told Kommersant FM.[1]
