2022: Digitalization of the warehouse with Kleverens: SOEMZ has found an easy way to reserve goods for customer orders

You can improve the structure and operation of a production enterprise in different ways: optimize the number of divisions, perform operations within a strictly allotted time, change the location of production sites, produce identical products, automate work using new technologies. There is also a universal way - when one employee performs the duties of three. In the latter case, it is unlikely that you will get high results and profit.

Short about the customer

Ecology and materials from which clothes, dishes, furniture are made are increasingly exciting for the consumer - we sort garbage, give packaging and paper to secondary production. The concept of ecology underlies the development of the company "SOEMZ," which processes waste paper and creates a high-strength flexible product with a unique name - "tuberous egg containers."

"The customer makes the predominant majority of goods from pulpercarton, a product of processing of secondary cellulose fibers obtained during paper processing. The material got its name thanks to the founders of the company'SOEMZ'. The production technology is built on the property of cardboard and paper to break down into fibers in hot

Before entering the warehouse, various types of packaging and cradles go through several stages: sorting and cleaning, preparation and molding of pulp, drying and finishing pressing. The company keeps records of finished products in '1C: Integrated automation 2.5', and all internal movements of goods are carried out using a document flow warrant scheme. In production, finished products are packed in strictly single-product pallets with a fixed number of units, "said Nikolai Revyakin, project manager at VIANT.


Tasks

At the initial stage of development, businesses have to solve a number of tasks: hire competent personnel, track the number of employees, develop norms and a clear structure of the company, prescribe work process regulations and organize jobs. But gradually the needs are growing, it is not possible to close them "manually," since all possible ways have already been tried and it is time to move to a new level.

The warehouse at that time already used data collection terminals and the standard solution 'Kleverens'. But in order to speed up warehouse operations as much as possible, this was not enough. We identified the need to further automate the processes of production of finished products, business processes of internal commodity movement, assembly in stock and further shipment of orders to customers during the project discussion. In addition, it was necessary to take into account the phased movement of products in warehouse divisions: so that first all the products produced were transferred to the finished product warehouse, and only after that access to the shipment of goods to the client was opened, "Nikolai shared his working moments.


Also, the management of the company "SOEMZ" indicated the need to configure the subsystem "Sales" so that it was possible to reserve goods in the warehouse, ensure the need for the warehouse of finished products through production and configure various policies for maintaining warehouse stocks. And he put forward a separate requirement: to optimize the processes of working with shipping documentation as much as possible - to reduce the time for recalculating goods on the pallet manually, to reduce human errors, to speed up shipments and inventory.

Decision

The term "turnkey" assumes that the contractor will take on all obligations to the client and fulfill his wishes in full. This approach to automation projects gives the customer the opportunity to obtain an adapted configuration of a mobile application, build an end-to-end process, develop supporting documentation and conduct training for warehouse employees by outsourcers.

Design and Rework Features

And with IT the specialists of the customer jointly developed the following accounting methodology:
  • Use packing lists. When releasing products, all goods are placed on pallets and "packed" using shipping documentation into packing lists. According to them, all further movement of goods will be recorded.
  • Develop additional shipping documentation statuses in the Packing List documents. This is necessary in order to track the state of each individual pallet - decommissioned, shipped to the customer or located on balances.
  • Adapt the processes of commodity movement and modify algorithms 1C the software 'Kleverens'. In order to be able to carry out warehouse operations and ship products to customers in whole pallets without additional recalculation.
  • Set up the Sales subsystem. In order to reserve and maintain warehouse balances, "said Nikolai Revyakin.


VIANT invited the customer to install an extended version of Warehouse 15. This level of license allows you to make improvements in the software. UROVO data collection terminals were selected from the equipment DT40 - 5 pieces. The exchange between the shipping documentation and the customer's accounting system was configured via Wi-Fi.

"Finished Product Release"

Now in 1C the document "Production without order" reflects the release of finished products. As soon as the document is processed at the shipping documentation, the "Goods Receipt Order" is automatically generated in the accounting system, into which the created "Packing Lists" are also automatically loaded.

"Write-off"

The document "Writing off the shortage of goods" storekeepers of the company "SOEMZ" use to write off goods in the accounting system. Integrators have specially developed an additional tabular part "Packing Lists" for this document. Which is automatically filled with the documents of the same name written off from the balances during work at the shipping documentation. All packing lists scanned in this transaction are transferred to the status "Written off" without the participation of the storekeeper.

"Move"

It was possible to reduce the number of the same type of operations in the warehouse and increase the speed of release and movement of finished products to the final warehouse due to the revision of the document "Transfer." Now all product movements are reflected in the document "Transfer Order."

We have adapted document uploading for partial movement of goods, and now the "Transfer Order" is re-uploaded to the shipping documentation taking into account previously moved goods - automatically, "the company's project manager shared VIANT.


"Assemble Items in Stock"

The order in 1C for the assembly of goods in the warehouse is the document "Customer Order. The process is as follows: the storekeeper uploads only lines to the terminal with the "Ship" action set.

Then it processes the document at the shipping documentation, completes it, and the "Expense Order" document is automatically generated in the accounting system, and all packing lists scanned in this operation are assigned the "Shipped" status.

Results

How do storekeepers not waste extra time moving around the territory and quickly perform operations in different areas of the warehouse? You can install a computer at each site - on the packaging, in the shipping area, between the racks. Or you can provide employees with mobile devices and get the maximum benefit from automation.

"We completed the project in a month. Additionally, they wrote instructions for all operations and conducted remote training on working with shipping documentation for key employees of the SOEMZ warehouse.

Warehouse automation with 'Warehouse 15' and mobile devices reduced the time to perform warehouse operations and the number of errors caused by the'human factor'. And thanks to software improvements, the customer can now reserve goods immediately after their manufacture for customer orders.
