2023: Development of a module to integrate CAE Fidesys with the T-Flex CAD/PDM suite
On August 30, 2023, the Borlas Group announced the development of a module for integrating Fidesys CAE with the T-FLEX CAD/PDM suite of programs . The module allows you to expand the functionality of three packages: CAE Fidesys, T-FLEX CAD and the T-FLEX DOCs client . Its main task is to ensure the interconnection in the enterprise infrastructure between the main blocks of the end-to-end product design process and the blocks of joint work of design and calculation units.
After installing the module in T-FLEX CAD, an additional CAE Fidesys menu appears, which allows you to launch the CAE Fidesys calculation package from CAD with the automatic loading of the active geometric model and the ability to transfer the characteristics of the materials used. The T-FLEX DOCs server access menu appears in the CAE Fidesys interface, which allows you to save the working session of the calculation package and the prepared calculation model with a finite element grid, configured boundary and loading conditions, a solution startup file and solution results.
When you save from a CAE Fidesys session, the files are placed in the user's working directory on the T-FLEX DOCs server. The overall product structure automatically creates an electronic structure of the simulation project with version support and access to the simulation model, the results of calculations directly from the T-FLEX DOCs client interface.
When developing the module, we set the task of significantly simplifying and automating the routine actions of an engineer when working together in the T-FLEX DOCs system, as well as providing structured storage of source data and calculation results as part of a single electronic product structure as a whole. As a result, this significantly reduces time the creation, formation of objects and structures lifecycle management in the product system and the preparation of simulation models in the CAE Fidesys strength analysis system. Integration into the system and configuration of the module is quite simple, and the interface is intuitive. As a result, we increase the personal performance of designers and calculators, as well as ensure complete transparency of control over versions (revisions) of components of the product and options for calculated cases. The release of the following versions and releases of the integration module will be synchronized with the release of updated versions of the integrable products - T-FLEX PLM and Fidesys, said Alexander Artamonov, Head of SAE of Borlas Group.
