2024: T-FLEX DOCs 17

In October 2024, Top Systems released a large-scale update of the T-FLEX DOCs 17 system, designed for comprehensive management of the enterprise's engineering data, as well as solving the problems of design, technological and organizational and administrative document management. The updates affected the most important functionality. This was announced on November 13, 2024 by representatives of the Top Systems company.

According to the company, to optimize the navigation of the process, a visualization of the number of current actions has been added to work directly on the process diagram, next to the work. This allows you to go directly from the process diagram to certain actions for work.

To optimize reading and understanding of the workflow logic, a tooltip has been added, which is displayed on states and transitions in the procedure editor. This allows you to analyze the logic of the flow chain directly in the process diagram. For the end user, the scheme remains compact, but for the administrator and process owners, such visualization optimizes the monitoring and debugging of complex processes.

Added Object Change Pending block type, which allows you to pause the process until one of the objects in the process changes. By default, any parameter of any object in the process is expected to change. To wait for a specific setting to change, the Track Changes to Selected Settings flag and the Tracked Settings list have been added. This option enhances the ability to more accurately define events and allows you to create more complex process logic.

As a result of collective work, many intermediate versions of objects can accumulate in the system, which have no value and will never be borrowed for any work. To clear the system of these elements and optimize the system, the ability to delete object versions has been added.

The ability to delete versions of objects is regulated by the updated access operation, if any, the user can delete irrelevant versions of the object in the version dialog, while the fact of deletion will be recorded in the system log.

For automated cleanup, a mechanism has been added to remove legacy versions of reference objects through the settings for legacy removal rules. The mechanism allows you to filter the list of objects whose versions should be deleted, determine the number of saved versions, their storage time and delete mode - manual, automatic, or semi-automatic with the preparation of a list of deleted versions.

Embedding T-FLEX DOCs in the enterprise IT landscape is an important and important task. As part of the development of system integration and data transfer tools, the data exchange section has been improved.

To optimize the integration configuration, you have added the ability to set communication rules using a wizard that allows you to select the necessary directories, parameters, and links in visual mode.

Added the ability to start data exchange in accordance with a certain rule on a schedule. This will allow you to form special filtering criteria for uploading data, according to which the selection and export will be carried out with a given regularity. The name of the output exchange file is generated automatically.

Predefined filters allow you to quickly access information that meets the specified search criteria, which saves a large amount of operator time. Creating search conditions can be quite difficult, so users can create, view, edit, and delete search query parameters in the Search window for Filter mode.

To organize the work of a team of specialists, it is possible to create group orders with which subdivided individual orders are associated. To correctly change the dates of dependent orders, you have added the ability to synchronize the dates of the collective order with the nested orders. In this way, changing the date or key date for the collective order synchronizes the dates of the sub-orders.

Added the ability to create a link to the task. This allows you to send notifications about tasks to external mail to performers. Using a direct link from the mail notification, the user will be able to go directly to the T-FLEX DOCs system.

For objects of the Task type, you have added the ability to copy the record reference and properties from the context menu. You can also create a job reference using a macro language.

2021: T-FLEX DOCs 17.1

On May 24, 2021, Top Systems announced the update of T-FLEX DOCs to version 17.1.

Most of the changes affected two areas: further increasing the flexibility of settings for automation tools for basic mechanisms and algorithms, as well as full-text search tools.

Functions such as naming object revisions using the letters of the Russian alphabet (taking into account the rule for excluding individual letters) appeared, settings for the rules for assigning numbers appeared in the Codifier's directory, and others.

The full-text search mechanisms added the ability to specify words that the search text should not contain, the operators "Search by word," "Search by phrase," "Search by exact phrase" appeared. In general, search mechanisms have become more comfortable to use - convenient sorting of previously saved queries alphabetically has appeared, and personal and general filters have also been separated from each other.

The navigation bar is now available for any type of reference book and allows you to quickly switch between individual directories, search folders and favorites without taking up space on the screen.

The general system navigation bar, which also has a compact view, now allows you to add various shortcuts to individual objects or system windows to it without leaving the compact display mode of this bar.

You can specify comments for additional parameters and display them in the List of Values.

The service functionality of the built-in mail subsystem has expanded. It became possible to use context filters for any folders, as well as the ability to quickly clear the "Assigned" folder, etc.

In general, there have been quite a few changes in the interface regarding the ability to perform various special actions on objects in any place where they are visible to users. For example, in the Object Usage control, you can now not only see objects in use or connected, but also perform the following commands: Go to Object, Open in New Window, Properties. In the Objects at Work window, you can immediately execute commands to apply changes to all objects displayed in it or to objects of a specific reference book. The set of available hotkeys has also expanded.

You have finished moving the Electronic Product Structure window to the mode of operation without modal dialogs. All product data tools are now available on dashboards that automatically open as part of the Reference Workbench. This allows you to make the data editing process more dynamic and convenient, since the interface is no longer blocked by pop-up dialogs, and the user can control all processes in the style and in the sequence that is most convenient for him. In particular, tools such as category management and configuration have been translated into the working panel mechanism.

The development of functionality for working with design contexts continued. This original teamwork and parallel design tool can now be included directly from the configuration panel. You can quickly create a design context without invoking special windows. In addition, switching the electronic product structure to work in a specific context automatically includes a special column in the window, which displays information about all changes that have occurred with product structure objects within this context.

Also, the design context is automatically taken into account when saving changes to the T-FLEX CAD design system, and the functions of transferring changes from the working context to the main one, as well as the functions of canceling changes to the context, are now available when you multiple select objects.

Separately, it is worth noting the increase in the flexibility of system algorithms for working with files of objects of the electronic structure of the product. The logic of their creation and naming is now placed in an editable macro.

The ability to quickly change the structure of an assembly from the PDM system has been enhanced by the ability to replace some objects with others directly from the Create and Replace panel. Now one panel solves all the basic tasks of working with the structure: you can use the search tools and select existing components to add to the product structure, create a new object, replace some objects with others, or exclude selected objects from the assembly. It also became possible to change the product structure by simply dragging objects into the affected assembly. The unified system tools of the T-FLEX PLM platform, which provide end-to-end editing operations for models and drawings of product structure objects, have become even more comfortable.

2020: Updated to version 17

2018: Updated to version 15

Top Systems, a developer of design, preparation and production planning automation systems, in January 2018 announced the release of the next version of the corporate system, which is the basis for the T-Flex PLM software package and is intended for managing engineering data and documents - T-Flex DOCs 15.

T-FLEX DOCs 14.1 Update

On July 13, 2015, Top Systems announced a large-scale update of the T-FLEX DOCs[1] system[1].

The company, according to its statement, took a noticeable step to meet the interests and wishes of customers: an interim cumulative update T-FLEX DOCs 14.1 was released.

Additional T-FLEX DOCs 14.1 features include:

The T-FLEX DOCs system constantly processes the emergence and transformation of structures of developed products and information about the technology of their production and assembly. This information can be transferred to various production management systems both through unified XML exchange files and through the creation of specialized software modules.

The Product Item Master Data is an automatically generated list of all objects that are or may be involved in the products.

A special tool of the T-FLEX DOCs system - directory management - makes it possible to create an arbitrary directory folder structure, a rule can be associated with each of them, according to which only the necessary data will be selected from a huge directory. In addition, you can create folders with arbitrary content. The system provides the possibility of automatic filling of the main parameters of the objects included in the product. This function allows you to describe the structure and logic of the internal relationships of the classification code for almost any of the known classifiers.
