CAE Fidesys is a tool for automating the full cycle of strength engineering analysis.

2025: CAE Fidesys 8.0 with rotor dynamics calculation and "Campbell Diagram" filter in the post-processor

On September 5, 2025, Fidesys introduced a major version of the product for engineering strength analysis and solving geomechanical problems - CAE Fidesys 8.0. In the eighth version, the possibilities for calculations have been significantly expanded: the package contains additional functionality and has become even more convenient for the user.

In CAE Fidesys 8.0, the developer company has implemented a significantly expanding functionality:

Calculation of rotor dynamics and the Campbell Diagram filter in the post-processor: calculation of rotor dynamics problems appeared taking into account gyroscopic effects, the solution can be performed in rotational or stationary coordinate systems. The construction of the Campbell diagram is automated, taking into account the Coriolis effect and centrifugal acceleration.

Elastic-plastic calculation for shell elements at small deformations: CAE Fidesys now has the possibility to calculate the stress-strain state of structures modeled by shell elements in the framework of elastoplastic setting - after the yield point in the plastic field of physical and mechanical properties of the material.

Custom Beam Sections-You can use arbitrary custom sections. The manual section property setting option is also available.

Converter for.BDF (Nastran) format: The converter is completely redesigned to import simulation models and grids from Nastran in BDF format. In the updated version of the converter, reading of materials and properties of blocks - sections of beams and shells is implemented, the list of supported boundary conditions and loads is expanded. You have entered support for the General and Gluing contact types. The conversion of coordinate systems is implemented - Cartesian, cylindrical, spherical.

Converter for.CDB (Ansys) format - Added a second simulation model converter from Ansys in CDB format. Now the package has two versions of the converter, between which you can choose when importing. The converter implements a different approach to data processing and is an alternative to the existing first Ansys CDB I converter. The CDB II converter has expanded the list of convertible surface loads and available types of analysis.

DICOM converter: an added DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) format converter. DCM is an industry-standard format for storing and distributing medical images taken using computed tomography. Computed tomography imports the geometric model in.STL format according to the density specified in Hounsfield units. A finite element mesh is automatically constructed using the Sculpt method. The resulting geometry can be modified or modified if necessary. It is also possible to rebuild the finite element grid depending on the complexity of the model into tetrahedral or Sculpt.

The ability to analyze the model before launching for calculation: the Model Analysis tool is implemented, which makes it easier for users to work with the simulation model before launching for calculation and allows you to get information about possible errors when creating a model or other incorrect data that may affect the successful launch of the calculation.

Composite Safety Factor Filter: To evaluate the strength of composite materials, CAE Fidesys 8.0 post-processor implements the following strength criteria based on the limit stresses of the monolayer: Tsai-Hill Criterion, Hoffman Criterion, Tsai-Wu Criterion, Maximum Stress Criterion. The Composite Safety Factor filter allows you to calculate safety factors according to these criteria for multilayer shells whose layers are made of orthotropic materials.

CAE Fidesys is developing very dynamically: the developer regularly presents new versions and releases of his product, meticulously delving into the tasks facing users and taking into account the current requirements for the implementation of functionality. The eighth version really turned out to be very rich, and we are sure that all users will appreciate the level of improvements and innovations. As a master distributor, we intend to further increase the pace of development of the software complex taking into account the needs of the market, consolidating practical expertise and feedback from our customers and partners, "commented Andrey Irevli, Head of Sales Department of Production Consulting at Borlas Group.

2023: Development of a module to integrate CAE Fidesys with the T-Flex CAD/PDM suite

The Borlas Group announced on August 30, 2023 the development of a module for integrating CAE Fidesys with the T-FLEX CAD/PDM suite of programs. The module allows you to expand the functionality of three packages: CAE Fidesys, T-FLEX CAD and the T-FLEX DOCs client . Its main task is to ensure the interconnection in the enterprise infrastructure between the main blocks of the end-to-end product design process and the blocks of joint work of design and calculation units. 2015: CAE Fidesys Opportunities

As of May 2015, the CAE Fidesys system helps to load and analyze the CAD model, build a calculated grid, set loads and mechanical properties of materials, select and configure the FEA solver, calculate the model, and visualize the calculation results.

CAE Fidesys Opportunities

  • Solving problems under flat stresses and flat deformations;
  • Calculation of stress-strain state of three-dimensional bodies under static loading;
  • Calculation of stress-strain state of three-dimensional bodies at dynamic loading;
  • Calculation of natural frequencies and forms of oscillations of three-dimensional bodies;
  • Calculation of critical loads and forms of buckling;
  • Solve problems for bodies that contain beam and/or shell elements.
