Running data programs and Python

VK Education opens a set of three free online courses: Introduction to Data Analysis, Algorithms and Data Structures, and Basic Python. Courses are launched in asynchronous format - participants will be able to take training at any convenient time. Graduates of IT courses will receive the basic knowledge and skills necessary for further development in the chosen direction and priority when selecting for VK Education courses with an in-depth program. This was announced on October 23, 2023 by VK (formerly Mail.ru Group).

The programs are developed by VK practice experts. Each module is filled with current theory and practical tasks for working out skills. Students will be able to get acquainted with the basics of the selected areas and receive a set of basic competencies that will help to take the first steps in IT.

Training on the launched VK Education programs will be held in asynchronous format - participants will be able to independently determine the download intensity and combine training with work and study. Courses are available to everyone.

Participants in the course "Introduction to Data Analysis" will understand the basics of statistics and data analysis, as well as learn how to use Python libraries to conduct statistical tests, interpret results and work with databases.

Students of the "Algorithms and Data Structures" program will get acquainted with the basic concepts and tools that will help in solving work problems, as well as gain knowledge that will speed up the processing of algorithms and data structures.

In the Basic Python course, students will learn how to write code for simple tasks, use built-in functions and data structures, and write their programs. During training, students will build their own projects from scratch.

Courses consist of video lectures, self-test tasks and additional methodological materials. As part of the training, students will also be able to consult with curators and participate in Q&A sessions with VK experts online. To successfully complete the course, you must have a set threshold score. As a result of the program, students will receive a certificate and priority consideration for VK Education courses with an in-depth program.

Launch of activities in IT and digital areas

VK Education launches career guidance activities in IT and digital areas for schoolchildren. The children will have access to new professions in the "Test Drive of IT Professions" service, which helps to choose the right direction for starting a career. This was announced on September 13, 2023 by VK (formerly Mail.ru Group).

In the career guidance mini-application "Test drive of IT professions," 6 new professions were launched: web developer, tester, product analyst, digital marketer, project manager, ML engineer. The service allows schoolchildren to get more acquainted with various areas in IT and digital - from development and machine learning to product management, media and creative industries. In the 2022-23 academic year, with the help of the service, 78 thousand users were able to try on various digital specialties.

Thanks to the project "Test drive of IT professions," schoolchildren can choose a profession in the direction of interest, try themselves in solving real work problems and get feedback. The service will also help to form a personal trajectory for starting a career in the IT and digital sphere using VK Education projects. For the successful passage of the "Test Drive of IT Professions," participants will receive points in the "Other Matter" service. They can be exchanged for participation in educational programs, internships and other bonuses.
