2023: Presentation of the Smart Campus Concept
Within the framework of the national project "Science and Universities" by 2030, it is planned to build 25 modern campuses in Russia. Sitronics Group has developed the Smart Campus concept to digitalize them. On September 20, 2023, she was presented to Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Khusnullin, Minister of Construction of the RFIrek Fayzullin and Ministethe RFIrek Fayzullin and Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valeriy Falkov.
During the presentation, Advisor to the President of Sitronics Group Armen Safaryan noted that the fundamental basis for such companies as Sitronics Group is human capital, a foundation that is laid in a lot from the student bench. It is important that knowledge is transmitted in comfortable conditions and in a single educational environment, which digital technologies allow.
Taking into account the attention that the state pays to the Science and Universities project, and the understanding that as a result, business will also be the beneficiary of quality education and the development of science, we have developed the concept of a smart campus as a set of digital solutions in the fields of construction, operation and educational process. It should be laid down immediately at the design stage, taking into account the target model of educational environment tools and the connection with the functioning of buildings. The approach we presented was supported by the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Education and Science, - commented Armen Safaryan. |
The Smart Campus is a multifunctional suite of digital systems and services for providing educational activities, comprehensive campus management and security, ranging from the entrance to the educational facility to electronic services for students and faculty. The project provides for the introduction of intelligent systems such as managed services for scientific development, collaboration and project management, for creating events and managing booking of various zones, managing multimedia content and a number of other services. The concept also developed a standard for equipping the campus perimeter with the necessary multimedia and audiovisual systems.
When developing the concept, we focused on real needs. The work was carried out jointly with representatives of universities, Ministry of Digital Development, city administrations. We conducted an audit of the current situation with digitalization at universities, studied the planned architectural and engineering solutions. As a result, we formed a list of necessary services and systems, and then designed the technical solutions necessary to implement these services, - said Alexey Sechkin, Director of the Software Products and Solutions Department of Sitronics Group. |
The concept is based on a smart campus pyramid consisting of four levels. The first provides a secure, fault-tolerant physical infrastructure for storage and processing, data exchange between residents and campus partners, between campuses, collection of data on the state of systems and facilities. The second is flexible routing of information flows, the possibility of secure remote access to the digital environment. The third is the logical access layer for various application solutions and systems using. API The fourth level contains all services that are designed for comprehensive management, life support, effective operation and security of the campus, as well as basic and additional student-oriented digital services.
Within the network of campuses, a single operation center is meant, which includes control of all key systems and processes for efficient and safe operation. The architecture of the complex of systems and services is focused on the most effective interaction between various residents, the creation of a cultural and scientific environment within the campus and its integration into universities and the urban environment.
Key services are a single window portal, application and notification services, on-campus navigation, a combined schedule and a single search, creation of events and reservations, for collaboration and project management, for scientific development, individual educational trajectories, careers and even a digital library. Important aspects in developing the concept are standardization and replicability requirements, making it applicable to virtually any of the campuses.
