MYeDIA1 Holding has implemented a backup system Cyber Backup. This was announced on October 19, 2023 by Cyberprotect.

IT infrastructure The "MYeDIA1" for October 2023 includes:

• 9 virtualization hosts,
• more than 100 virtual servers,
• More than 20 physical servers.

In 2022, MEDIA1-Management LLC, like many other Russian companies, faced the need to replace the software of foreign developers and switch to domestic IT solutions. The media holding had to rebuild its IT strategy and introduce new corporate digital products.

In connection with the current situation in the world, an important selection criterion was the software manufacturer - sanctions restrictions made the request for Russian technologies especially relevant. Leaving the market of foreign vendors increased the risks for our business, so our IT team in a very short time had to find and implement a competitive domestic backup solution - completely independent, relevant, reliable, protected from vulnerabilities, - said Valery Lisitsa, Chief information officer of MEDIA 1-Management LLC.

To ensure uninterrupted and reliable backup of all the holding's data, MYeDIA1 IT specialists needed to find a full-fledged replacement for the previously used recovery boiler - Veritas Backup Exec, the developer of which left the Russian market and limited the possibility of using its products for consumers in Russia.

We had to build the backup process on the new recovery boiler and make it as automated as possible. The task was to protect virtual machines, documents, databases SQL and, Microsoft Exchange Server- explained the IT head of the media holding.

The MYeDIA1 IT team has prepared a list of technical requirements for the backup system:

• Tape and library support (one of the main options)
• Storage replication capability,
• ease of management,
• high speed of operation,
• reliable data recovery,
• Support backup plans
• High-quality technical support from the developer.

MYeDIA1 IT specialists were engaged in the implementation and configuration of the system on their own. The smooth transition to the IBS took no more than three months, at some stages it took consultation with the engineers of the Cyber ​ ​ Cyberprotect support service. No additional training was required. According to the specialists of the IT department of the MEDIA 1 holding, detailed software documentation provided by the developer and periodic communications with Cyberprotect engineers were quite enough for the independent implementation of the recovery boiler.

As of October 2023, Cyber Backup protects more than 80 TB of MEDIA 1 holding data. The IBS managed to demonstrate its capabilities during an abnormal situation that caused data loss - everything was restored.
