2019: How Travel Retail Domodedovo began labeling perfumes using Kleverens software and mobile computers

About Customer

Everyone who has ever been in the relegation zone airport probably paid attention to the outstanding Duty Free sign. The shelves of duty-free stores trade are lined with packages with branded goods. But these outlets made popular not the bright and memorable labels of foreign manufacturers, but the fact that there is no need to pay indirect for taxes the goods.

Boutiques by Gebr. Heinemann can be found on cruise ships and at border crossings, and the number of stores at 200 airports in 28 countries exceeds 600. Over the years, Heinemann Duty Free & Travel Value stores have served about 45 million customers, giving them special and memorable travel emotions.

The representative office of Gebr.Heinemann in Russia has been operated by Travel Retail Domodedovo since 2007. That year, the first store opened at Domodedovo Airport in Moscow. Today, "TRD" is 19 successful stores at 7 airports in the cities of our country.

We have 2 branches in Moscow - at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports, one each in Samara, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Yekaterinburg. Several stores are located in the departure zone on the territory of the Russian Federation, but we sell perfumes from foreign manufacturers. Since such a product comes directly from abroad, it must be labeled. The assortment in each boutique has several thousand items. All data on accounting, financial management and commodity movement are reflected in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, which allows you to organize accounting for inventory balances in accordance with the law,

Tasks

Statistics show perfume and toilet water are the best-selling items in airport departure zones. Since 2020, the state has obliged sellers to label perfumes. This demand has not spared the owners of Duty Free boutiques. Therefore, the management of Travel Retail Domodedovo began to search for a ready-made solution for working with marked goods and interacting with the Honest SIGN system.

We have used data collection terminals for inventory in warehouses and stores before, only they read one-dimensional barcodes. And after the introduction of mandatory labeling, we realized that we need a 2 in 1 solution - in order to keep records of our internal ShK and at the same time maintain the original manufacturer's labeling,

Decision

The process of working with DataMatrix codes is complex and incomprehensible at first glance. But as soon as you understand the nuances, it will become clear that ordering and putting CM into circulation, especially if this process is automated for you, is easy. Of course, you can't do without registration in the labeling system. And it is also impossible to sell goods without a code. But it's not so scary. And the experience of Travel Retail Domodedovo proves this.

File:Aquote1.png
Of course, we considered several software products. And "Kleverens" was at that time the most prepared for labeling and approached our work algorithms. Initially, we planned to label goods abroad, but the restrictions of 2020 have made their own adjustments. Therefore, now we apply CM in our own warehouse. The software was chosen precisely because of the labeling of a foreign warehouse, since all our products are imported from well-known brands. But we keep the original barcoding. And for our tasks it was necessary to design a label with a Russian description and a marking code of "Honest Sign." In "Kleverens" this has already been implemented,

With the help of the software "KIKA: FOREIGN WAREHOUSE" from "Kleverens" you can order and apply CM directly at the data collection terminal, individually print labels with verification, ship, collect ShK and perform a number of other operations. Soft became a real assistant for employees of Travel Retail Domodedovo in working with marking.

The result of the well-coordinated teamwork of the developers of Cloverens and HEINEMANN was:

Stores operate according to the old scheme: sellers scan labels and CM with a barcode scanner at the checkout, after that they sell. In the warehouse, the goods are first accepted using mobile devices, then labels are printed. Due to the fact that 2 storekeepers work each with their own shipping documentations, we can use the collective work option and process one document from different devices. In branches, we have 1 terminal in operation,

HEINEMANN specialists have finalized the process of ordering marking codes in Honest Sign for business realities. Previously, KMs were first unloaded by KMs from MicrosoftDynamics NAV. To do this, each product was pre-scanned, then the required quantity was ordered. It doesn't matter how many items there were in the document with different numbers of codes - 10, 20 or more. Now the storekeeper simply selects the document, and all DataMatrices are automatically ordered to the "ChZ."

File:Aquote1.png
We have also finalized the product guide. We needed the program to recognize the 9-digit and 12-digit barcodes we were using. We also have products from different manufacturers with the same name. Naturally, ShKs are different. And we adapted the product guide, now everything is correctly processed and recognized. These have simplified the work at times,

Result

The main headache of any business is human error. The company's staff suffers from them, they affect profits, reduce customer loyalty and cause the severance of partnerships. It would seem that it is impossible to get rid of this and you just need to come to terms. But there is a way, if not excluded, then at least significantly reduce them - automation of business processes.

= shared his impressions of the results of the work Konstantin Gusev' Now our mechanism has changed a little: first, the employee uploads the document from the accounting system, then performs acceptance (counting) or prints labels on this document. That is why we chose Kleverens: it has already implemented a model for minimizing errors. Since local Russian suppliers sent the goods, it did not suit us: the label could be cut off or a fuzzy ShK could be glued to the packaging. Travel Retail Domodedovo does not have this, because employees of a warehouse or store carry out a double check - when printing and when inking. And in this we are very helped by "Kika: FOREIGN WAREHOUSE." The software allows you to eliminate fatal errors by 99%. Such as re-ordering and mislabeling. If we take into account that our stores and warehouses are located in different cities, we very quickly automated all processes: we started in September, started working with Kleverens and shipping documentation of in October. Minor improvements were completed by the new year. We are satisfied with the result,}}
