X5 Group has introduced NaviKit SDK navigation technology from APIndex Maps for drivers Kh5 Transport. Now the route management is displayed inside the corporate application for drivers, and the calculation of the optimal path takes into account not only the current road situation and traffic jams, but also the class, dimensions and tonnage of trucks, speed restrictions on the route and other parameters to choose from, which allows you to quickly deliver fresh food to distribution centers or store shelves. X5 Group announced this on October 30, 2023.

NaviKit SDK made it possible to use Yandex geotechnology, which is the basis of Yandex Maps and Yandex Navigator, and customize them for specific needs Kh5 Transport: add additional functions for the convenience of drivers, order control and more efficient fleet management.

More than 3,000 drivers participated in the tests of the added functionality. During the pilot, they learned to give accurate data on the height and tonnage of transport and, accordingly, get optimal routes. It also turned out to strengthen control over the attempt, the speed of fulfillment of orders and the general satisfaction of drivers with navigation.

The company itself decides which route the driver will take. If the driver needs to return to the warehouse as soon as possible, then the fastest route is shown. If there is time, for example, in the low season, then the cheapest, with a minimum kilometer.

Application Kh5 Transport receives information about speeding and deviations from the route and sends notifications. But earlier, the driver might not have noticed them, as he followed the route on another application. Now these notifications are shown during navigation. The online dispatcher sees when the driver deviated from the permitted route and can quickly react.

The efficient use of driver time is becoming more and more important for us. Therefore, we are constantly working on improving processes - automation and reducing downtime. Not all the technologies we explore are having an effect. But the NaviKit SDK is an example when everything worked out.
