2025: Installation of additional 86 complexes for photo and video recording of violations on the roads
In the Volgograd region, an additional 86 complexes of photo and video recording of violations on the roads have been installed. The equipment was delivered by NPO ITS by order of the Safe Region State Institution to reduce accidents on highways. NPO ITS announced this on February 17, 2025.
On the most difficult sections of roads now there are "smart" systems of Russian production, including photo and video recording complexes "SPIDER." SPIDER devices operate using neural network technologies and can be configured to detect violations such as speeding, driving to a traffic light, crossing a stop line, not using seat belts and others. The equipment also recognizes the types of vehicles and their license plate number. Photo and video recording complexes are integrated with the SPO "Web" for operational-search measures.
By the end of 2025, another 168 photo and video recording complexes will appear in the region. As a result, the total number of "smart" devices for detecting violations on the roads of the Volgograd region will exceed 600 units.
The regional administration is taking measures to improve traffic control. We have already installed transport detectors at the busiest intersections of Volgograd, which help us monitor traffic flows and unload streets. Now our task is to increase safety on highways with the help of modern photo and video recording complexes, "said Andrei Ulybin, director of the Safe Region State Institution. |
2023: Installing more than 200 transport detectors
More than 200 transport detectors were installed on the roads of the Volgograd region. This was reported on November 2, 2023 by the NGO Intelligent Technical Systems.
The next stage of creating infrastructure for the intelligent transport system of the region has been completed. The introduction of ITS is underway within the framework of the national project "Safe Quality Roads."
In 2023, 68 intersections in the Volgograd region were equipped with domestic devices for collecting basic traffic statistics. In Volgograd, 62 transport detectors were installed, and in Volzhsky - 167.
The capabilities of this equipment allow you to detect the type and number of cars in each lane and in each direction. And also record the average speed of the flow and individual machines, determine the length of the congestion at the intersection and other parameters. The collected data is transferred to the intelligent transport system deployed on the basis of the Regional Transport Management Center (RCUT).
If we talk about technology for ITS, then in 2023 we focused on the installation of transport detectors. For example, in Volzhsky they are equipped with almost all the key intersections of the city. With the help of detectors, we will get a more complete picture of the road situation. RCUT specialists will be able to more efficiently manage traffic flows, creating more advanced scenarios for traffic lights. What effect will residents get from this: traffic jams will be less, and trips around the city will become faster and more comfortable, - said Andrei Ulybin, Director of the State Budgetary Institution of the Volgograd Region "Safe Region." |
The supply and installation of transport detectors in the Volgograd region was carried out by the company NPO "ITS." All radar type detectors. Among their advantages is the high accuracy of detection. In addition, they are much less whimsical in service compared to video detectors. And their work does not depend on the weather and lighting.
In the Volgograd region, we have installed Russian-made detectors that are optimal for monitoring traffic at city intersections. Our technology, for example, is able to simultaneously detect more than 100 objects. It allows you to assess traffic congestion with high accuracy in real time, quickly receive information about traffic jams and quickly take measures to eliminate them, "said Vyacheslav Smirnov, General Director of the NGO Intelligent Technical Systems. |
As a result of the execution of the contract for the creation of infrastructure for ITS, the number of transport detectors in the Volgograd region more than 2 times increased. As of November 2023, more than 220 detectors have already been installed on the roads of Volgograd, and more than 170 in Volzhsky.
