On November 2, 2023, AXELOT announced that it had implemented a finished product warehouse automation project for the JACO confectionery factory. The typical functionality of AXELOT WMS turned out to be enough to meet all the needs of the company.

It was reported that the introduction of the warehouse management system was necessary for KF "JACO" to ensure the optimal degree of transparency of warehouse operations. The priority task related to the automation of the finished product warehouse was the implementation of product accounting in terms of production dates. Automation will allow the factory to optimize the accuracy of accounting and traceability of batches directly during warehouse cargo processing.

AXELOT WMS was chosen as the software solution. AXELOT specialists were invited to implement the project.

The introduction took place at the finished product warehouse in Nalchik, its area is slightly more than 4000 square meters. m. The range of manufactured products of KF "JACO" includes marmalade-pastille products, waffles, sweets with jelly, fondant, milk cases, sweets with a filling between layers of waffles, assorted chocolates, iris, dragee, puff dough products, cookies, caramel. In total, there are about 1,500 active commodity items in stock.

For the organization of processes, the entire space of the warehouse is divided into technological zones by purpose and principles of cargo processing. The goods are stored on racks and on the floor - zoning, respectively, is produced taking into account the types of storage places.

When implementing AXELOT WMS, the project team used the out-of-the-box version of the system; to implement the peculiarities of the business processes of the confectionery factory, it was possible to limit itself to the settings of standard functionality. For the company, this approach provides minimal risks both during implementation and during further operation, because the typical functionality has been repeatedly tested and tested in practice, which eliminates any possible errors and failures due to the fault of the system. Also, the implementation of WMS "out of the box" allows you to reduce the duration of the project, the client receives the working version of the system exactly on the date agreed in the contract. In addition, the use of standard functionality without modifications thanks to the availability of detailed technical documentation optimizes the system support procedure, so the company can perform it with its own specialists.

Before the introduction of AXELOT WMS, operations were performed on "paper," and now personnel use mobile data terminals, which made it possible to optimize the execution of operations. For example, before automation, during the acceptance of goods, the storekeeper received a plan unloaded from the CIS, according to which he had to conduct receipt control, after which the information was manually entered by the operator into the system to record the fact of acceptance and the amount of goods received. Now, during the acceptance of the goods, the operator in the expedition zone, based on the data from the CIS, forms the document "Receipt Plan" in the WMS, scans the barcodes of the previously generated storage place and storage object, selects or creates a batch and enters the received quantity, and after that the storekeeper with the shipping documentation already performs receipt control and completes acceptance. Further, the products are placed in a warehouse in the area of ​ ​ floor or rack storage, where exactly - AXELOT WMS prompts. With shipping documentation, personnel perform other warehouse activities, including inventory.

The location of the products in the warehouse and each operation with the goods in the context of the necessary analytical characteristics is recorded in AXELOT WMS online, thereby achieving the desired transparency of warehouse operations, which was the main goal of automation for ZHAKO KF.

During the implementation of AXELOT, WMS was integrated with the CIS of the enterprise, for this AXELOT specialists used DATAREON Plarform. The factory management received a convenient tool that allows not only to track the condition of the goods (condition) and its location in the warehouse, but also to optimize the efficiency of the warehouse by reducing the impact of the human factor.
