2023: Institute Construction

In December 2023, it became known about the construction of the Institute of High Technologies in Kaliningrad. The project is being implemented on the basis of the Baltic Federal University named after Immanuel Kant ("Kantiana").

This object is one of the six educational buildings of the Kantiana campus, which is being built in the westernmost region of Russia according to the presidential national project Science and Technology. The area of ​ ​ the new 4-storey educational building is more than 13 thousand square meters. m. It will include the Institute for the Study of Artificial Intelligence, the Higher School of Engineering and Technical Services, the Center for Mechanotronics, etc. About 1,700 students will study at the Institute of High Technology.

According to Interfax, citing the press service of the Single Customer in the Construction Sector, by the end of December 2023, a new hostel was also erected on the campus, in which more than 800 students will live. In addition to residential blocks with double accommodation, there will be recreation rooms, spaces for leisure and self-preparation, as well as living rooms and storage rooms for valuable things of students. In addition, the hostel will house a dining room for 360 seats and a cafe. Also on the territory of the university there will be a street with cafes, shops and bank branches.

Good pace of construction of the campus in the BFU. I. Kanta noted the assistant to the President of Russia Maxim Oreshkin, who visited the facility on December 21, 2023. The Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov confirmed the plans of the regional authorities to send 1 billion rubles to the laboratory equipment of the campus.

Complete the construction of a world-class campus with a total area of ​ ​ more than 109 thousand square meters. m is planned in 2025. The facility is planned to establish an access and comprehensive security mode based on digital technologies and biometrics.[1]
