2024: The ability to issue a registered letter

Users Russian Post Office no longer have to buy stamps from the post office to send a letter. Using the Online Payment Sign service, private clients can issue a registered letter by Russia and pay for the shipment without leaving their homes. The Post Russia reported this on February 7, 2024.

Online payment signs are a special, QR code alternative to paper stamps. In order to use the service, you need to issue and pay for a letter on the Post Office website. After that, the information system will generate the front side of the envelope with a unique symbol - the client will receive it in - and PDFfile will be able to print it on the usual printer one on the front side of the envelope. The prepared letter must be handed over to the operator in the post office within 3 days from the date of registration - it will take less than a minute to receive correspondence.

Previously, only legal entities could use the service; since December 2023, the Post Office has extended it to private individuals. In 2023, 18,800 legal entities used the service, and the number of letters paid by online payment signs amounted to 67 million, which is 76% higher than 2022.
