2024: Approval of the creation of the SEZ

On March 9, 2024, the Russian government approved a decree on the creation of three new and expansion of two existing special economic zones (SEZs). In particular, the Rostov SEZ was formed in Novocherkassk, in which eight companies intend to work with a total investment of about 8.6 billion rubles.

It is reported that companies in the SEZ "Rostov" intend to implement projects for the production of trailed and semi-trailer equipment, as well as industrial refrigeration equipment. In addition, a natural gas liquefaction complex, a plant for the manufacture of equipment for treatment facilities and a chemical plant producing synthetic resins and protective and decorative materials will be built in Novocherkassk.

On the territory of the SEZ there is an infrastructure for the creation of the listed industries. The missing engineering facilities are planned to be built at the expense of extrabudgetary funds. The emergence of the SEZ will allow to form at least 790 new jobs. The Governor of the Rostov Region Vasily Golubev believes that thanks to the implementation of the project, the Don region will strengthen its industrial potential, and will also receive a new tool to stimulate investment growth.

The development of industries has always been one of our most important priorities. Today the task has become more complicated. It requires not just new industries, but enterprises working to achieve a global goal - to ensure the country's technological sovereignty. The creation of a special economic zone "Rostov" is one of the ways to solve the problem, says Golubev.
