2024: Axelot WMS Rollout
Ceramics Solutions Rus has completed a pilot project for the introduction of AXELOT WMS at a warehouse in the Samara region. Axelot (Axelot) announced this on March 26, 2024.
AXELOT was tasked with developing a versatile warehouse automation solution with AXELOT WMS that can be easily replicated to other company facilities.
The organization includes three plants: two for the production of ceramic tiles and porcelain stoneware in the Moscow region with a capacity of up to 17 million square meters. meters per year and one, for the production of sanitary equipment, in the Samara region with a capacity of more than 2 million products per year. The total number of employees of all enterprises is 1,800 people.
The growing scale of production and the rapid development of the company required the modernization of logistics, which would optimize the operation of the warehouse complex and increase the efficiency of key warehouse operations. Finished product warehouses have already been automated, initially the company's management planned to switch to a more modern system - AXELOT WMS. However, subsequently, the plans changed a little and the cooperation decided to start with automation of warehouses of raw materials and materials (SiM), which are also located on the territory of production sites and worked "on paper" before automation.
Together with the AXELOT project team, the customer's specialists drew up a plan and began a "pilot" project for the implementation of AXELOT WMS at one of the SiM warehouses located at the sanitary ceramics plant in Syzran.
The company produces more than 2 million products per year - this is about 60 types of plumbing made of natural materials. The plant covers an area of 60,000 square meters. m., the area of storage facilities is about 6,000 square meters. m., the area of open storage areas - about 9,000 square meters. m. The CIM warehouse, where WMS was implemented, is designed for 3,000 storage places under 20,000 SKU.
The company needed to automate all the main warehouse operations and thereby increase the transparency of key processes, reduce time costs, and eliminate dependence on personnel. The goal for the future is to combine all warehouse sites of the company into a single logistics circuit.
The key objective of the AXELOT WMS implementation pilot project was the creation of a universal verified solution that could be easily replicated at other customer sites in the future - both CM warehouses and finished product warehouses.
The warehouse where the WMS was implemented contains various categories of goods: raw materials for production, components, fuel and lubricants, packaging, spare parts, building materials, inventory and household accessories, overalls and special equipment, equipment, etc.
Based on the request to create a universal solution with formalized accounting and management processes that would allow you to effectively manage warehouses of various purposes, the AXELOT team for the implementation of the project chose the project implementation technology. Thanks to this approach, it was possible to work out the layout of the system in detail, taking into account the specifics of the warehouse model and all business processes of the Cersanit warehouse.
To solve the problems of the project, there was enough functionality out of the box. The standard functionality of the AXELOT WMS system made it possible to maximize all business processes of the customer's warehouse with all the variety of product categories, and the minimum changes were aimed only at improving the convenience of work.
During the project, the AXELOT team conducted integration AXELOT WMS with the customer's corporate information system using the DATAREON Platform.
The successful implementation of the project was made possible not only due to the functionality of AXELOT WMS, but also due to the involvement of a dedicated customer team, which always prioritized the project tasks and was quickly included in their solution.
Automation helped to increase the speed of warehouse operations, and as a result, ensure stable support for the production process. The accounting of goods has become more transparent and is carried out in real time.
As a result of the project, Cersanit management received a universal, flexible and effective solution, which will be replicated in other warehouses of the company in the future and will allow to comprehensively increase the efficiency of the warehouse.
